mc-map-item-tool's Issues

Server?

Hi! I'd love to use this on my minecraft server, but when I import the map.dat files in my minecraft server world it won't load, not even after a reload/restart!

Please help me, you'd be my hero of the day XD

GREETINGS craptian (JellyBeanCreeps mc user)

option to download schematic or function (with commands) to place the blocks in the world

Hi, being able to see the blocks that makes the map placed in the world would be awesome, for survival players who dont have acces to the server console or to create pixel art its very usefull. there are other apps who create pixel art from an image but the pixel art reated doesnt look good in a map so they dont work to create maps in survival.
Or at least a txt file with the blocks in order.
Thanks ;)

Add support for banner markers

If possible, add a new step in the web interface to either:

  • Add markers manually via web interface
  • Import a structured JSON file. Of course this JSON structure would require its own documentation.

This would open a whole can of new use cases such as diagram labels.

Weird map bug - any ideas?

I have this bug started to happen recently. I create custom maps, upload them and they work fine. But some maps change after some time / or server restart for no reason. Only some maps are affected, not all.

Look at the screenshot to see what I mean:
https://i.imgur.com/rZ7Velx.png

They suddenly have a piece of a lanscape / chunk in them.

Any ideas how to fix or what is causing it?

Version:
PaperSpigot-1.11.2-b1104.jar

The tool does not work

I tried so many times but I still got only the minecraft map and did not get the image I used the version 1.14

MCPE support

Would it be possible to add full support for the "Bedrock" version of the game? The format is a little different, especially for the commands and nbt, but it shouldn't be too complicated to add i think.

I could help and provide some information about the map nbt format of mcpe if you'd like

Wont change steps

When i upload a photo step 2 doesn't come up, it just states that the file has been uploaded

Negative number map color id

When I was creating a map.dat through the website, the picture in the map was delted and regenerated by Minecraft 1.15.2.
I checked the map color id in the map using NBTExplorer, I found negative numbers in the array "Color".

My settings:
Color space: LABA
Color scheme: version 1.12
Dimension: End
Other settings: default.

Empty maps

The tool doesnt work anymore it seems like it center the map on 0 0 even if saving the options to 10000 10000, so loading a map at 0 0 clears the picture.

Support For Moving Picture Conversion, or Screen Playing Functions?

So I was thinking, it's all well and good to convert images, but what about videos? It's possible, but it requires me to take a frame from a video and convert it, then find the next perfectly spaced frame, etc. There could be another tool that works almost the same way as the one here, but instead, it takes frames from a gif or whatever and turns them into images. You could have a menu dropdown for FPS (which can only be 20 at most due to Minecraft's 20 ticks per second), then the program could take snapshots from the video at those markings. Then it turns those snapshots into maps. However, it would be hard to display these videos without painstaking command block work. Therefor, there should be another dropdown telling you to specify where your "screen" edges are in coordinates. Then, it will just create a Datapack Function for the commands to switch the map numbers on the item frames, creating a "Moving Picture" movie. I have been doing some coding off of this site, and it works as a concept, but unfortunately I lack the skill and knowledge to create a full working version to send as a Pull Request or even a demo. This sounds difficult, but in reality would only constitute a program for FPS and stopping the video. The harder part would be the functions, which aren't technically necessary in the process. Hope this gave you some ideas! :)

offer next bigger size if not multiple of 128

If the width or height is not a multiple of 128, the tool should also offer the next bigger size, which would fill the remaining space with transparency. The image would then be aligned top-left.

See suggestion in #25

1.9

Hey
With the new 1.9 snapshots something in the map_[i].dat changed and it doesnt work in theese versions.

Pls add an option to get the map_[i].dat files 1.9 compatible

Wierd glitch and I have no clue how to fix it

So basically every time I make a custom map this weird glitch happens. So I replace the the map file, close minecraft, then open it again, and go into the world where I made the map. It does this weird glitch where it seems like the map automatically switches to another map. What I mean by that is when I have already created the map it shows on the map that I am near that location eaven tho i'm not. So I follow it and the map starts turning into the location right next to where I was. Eaven though this map was created far away from where I am now. And it does this every time. It seems to switch the maps location into the exsact same spot every time I do this.
I don't know whats happening can anybody help?

map not working

I replaced the map in the data file (map_2.dat) and it deleted the map so i tried again with map_8.dat and it didn't register even after restarting. I am doing this on a server, which may have something to do with it, and it is also using multiverse for version 1.15.2. Can you help or does it not work on servers?

help I'm stupid

I'm on 1.14.2 & I can't figure out what the command is to pull new maps. I type /give @s minecraft:filled_map 1 & It accepts that but if I try to specify the map number it refuses to work.

How do I get the maps?

I added the maps into the data folder and reset Minecraft but where do I get the maps from? Is there something I missed?

EDIT: I am in 1.14.2

Issues on server

I have tested this on a single player world and it works. But when it came to uploading it onto my server, for some reason it just doesn't do anything. I get what seems to be close surroundings and not at all what I've uploaded. I've moved X and Z coordinates very far, not too far, keeping it close but not that close. It just doesn't work when uploaded to server for some reason.

Is server compatibility a regular issue? Is there any way of fixing it?

Map Problems

I don't know if I am doing something wrong or what but whenever I replace the map file I get some weird green transparent map, is it because the file is too big, or because I chose the wrong world type, or what? Because I can't make this work

Please add more scaling options

I am trying to get custom banners for each server on my network, but i cannot just have a tiny 4x1 banner... so, can there be an update to make a 7x2 image possible? thanks!

Glitch?

Hey.
So my maps keep glitching after a while (hours/days) and it shows some green spots(grass) that represent the actual minecraft location map inside of my custom images.

I've deleted and re-added my maps, I've re-created my maps and done every possible troubleshoot that I can think of.

Can anyone help?

Thanks
