opensourcegames's Issues

ImperiumAO sources

ImperiumAO used to be open source says the wayback machine June 2011 but not anymore. The question is, is the last version of the public open source still available somewhere?

If not, then it's truly not an open source game anymore. If yes, it probably should be preserved somewhere.

SharpKonquest license

What license does SharpKonquest have?

Only indication is GPL-2.0 on the main Sourceforge project page but it seems there is nothing directly attached to the source code.

Recommend contacting the authors.

Add some more libraries

Like Crypto, Threads, Latex (more of a tool), Lua, tolua, yamll-cpp, SDL2 image, mixer, gfx, PkgConfig, zlib, curl, libzlma, libpng, freetype2, icu (bidirectional text rendering), OpenAL, OpenGL, libxml2, wxWidgets, Doxygen (more of a tool), OpenSSL

How well must license information be displayed to be included here?

I've come across quite some examples which seem to be a grey area. On the one hand these projects do offer their source and they give the overall impression that everyone can share and modify their code, but on the other hand, in the source repositories or in the offered downloads no clear license information is given.

Clear license information would be:

  • LICENSE or COPYING file or a clear remark about the license status in the README
  • license header in every source file
  • information about licenses of dependencies

Without any of this, I would tend to say that the projects are open source, but not able to be shared and modified safely and therefore are not within the scope of this collection.

Free Mars sources

Free Mars says it's licensed under GPL-3.0 but I cannot find any sources. The installer wants one to agree with the GPL license but they themselves do not seem to agree. One should probably contact the developers to clarify the whereabouts of the sources or the status of the project.

Quasar license?

What license does Quasar have?

Only indication is GPL-2.0 on the main Sourceforge project page but it seems there is nothing directly attached to the source code.

Recommend contacting the authors.
