Hi! I was wondering how you dealt w the surface border errors in your older model when printing? Because I am not sure how to fix it and otherwise sketchup doesn't allow the part to be a solid. Also I was wondering if you had a measurement of surface area or volume of this model? I was trying to find it with sketchup so I could see how much it would cost me to print one for myself, but it wont list the volume of the case portion.

Since people are asking for multiple phones to work with this design maybe it would be better to make a body that could accept an extra piece that is custom for different phones. Then anyone can just make an insert for an iPhone 5s or Galaxy s7 and use it in the same body but with their respective insert. Would this work?

I found that the opening for the iphone 6s Compact Kanto was to big for the phones thickness. have to use a folded sheet of paper and a piece of cardboard

When trying to open any of the .skp files I get an error, they are corrupted. Also the .obj won't import into any of my 3d software for some reason. can you convert those files to .STL please??

hi, AWESOME thing you got going here. I just have a small concern. I love Pokemon and always have. I would be thrilled to get my hand on this little gadget but from what I have read i do not think my phone will fit. If i remember the parameters of the universal Kanto Pokedex correct then I think my phone is just barely too big... is there anyway you could look into this? I have access to a few printing services in the area I live but my design skills are... well poor. I have the HTC 10. it was released earlier this year. any advice or solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for all of the time and effort you have put into this project!! I heard that the new model will work for phones up to 5.5," but the s6 edge plus has a 5.7" screen. I was hoping to buy one once the pricing was released, but I wouldn't want to do that ifor it wouldn't be able to fit my phone. Just thought I'd mention that 5.5" isn't the largest phone out there.

On the other hand, maybe I'll just buy one for my old iphone.

i have created a newer better version of the pokedex casing.
will upload the files as soon as i have fully completed it. as in a functional state
(if the owner of the github page allows me to upload the files, that would be great) (i have currently a beta version complete) (not sure if its 100% functional/working as intended) (it fits ALL phones up to 5.5" without the need of complex changes). (since i used a tray mechanism to put in the phone)

features:

still the same size (thus no need for a bigger printer)

phone swappable. (made a slide in tray for the phone) (maximum supportable size 140x 70 mm) (5"phones)
its also possible to use a 5.5"phone (you will lose some part of the screen and speakers) (or the powerfunction has to be sacrifised) (the screen los is bare minimum so should not inflict any pokemon capture issue's)

possible powerbank hotswap (swapping 2000mah powerbanks) (bar/cilinder versions) (will post maximum combiable size powerbanks soon)

smoothed out the layers.

I would really love a modified version for my Moto G 2nd Gen, but I don't know anything about model editing... However I'm willing to pay!

The dimensions are 11mm - 70,7mm - 142 mm. And for the camera a 40x20mm opening from the top.

Ive made modifications myself but not confident with the 9% overall size increase and some stretching.

I finished modifying the lid yesterday so that I could print without hinges. The hinges are a separate piece to be glued on later.

I would pay a handsome amount for one for my s7 edge also. Unfortunately 3D printers are out of my reach or understanding atm but...everyone loves pokemon. Willing to pay extra for a belt clip for it too!
