This would be quite easy to do, in fact, I might try it today (no promises though! ;) ). It would be in an after-import function. I'll look into it sometime.

Just a quick note here: rioforce looked into this a few weeks ago and found that 0.994 is a good value to scale the parts to. Only thing that would be left is to add the code to check if is a part or not according to the header (as you said), but the best place to perform this check and action is throwing me for a (recursive :P) loop.
