Thank you for the bug report. I implemented the patch to save the configuration where it did, but failed to think what may happen if the user installs it to Program Files. My bad.

I'll get to fixing this. It may not be this week, but I'll get it done and it will ship in the next release. 😉

As a workaround, I recommend installing LDR Importer to C:\Users\MyUser\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.x\scripts\addons, which is the suggested installation path and where I designed it to work. 😃

P.S. If you don't mind my asking (I'm curious), how did you learn of this project?

@MinnieTheMoocher I patched this in bb84f54. Download that revision and tell me if it solves the issue or not. Of course I tested it myself, and it worked when installed both in program files and app data. Basically, it looks for and saves config.py in the same place (app data), but it uses a process to detect the newest available version of Blender and save it there. I'm about to revise it to get the currently used Blender version instead (my local copy of the API docs went missing...). However, if you want to go ahead and test this version, please do. It'd actually help ensure I've done correctly. :)
