The lookup_host function uses getaddrinfo underneath to get its results. Fundamentally, getaddrinfo is a socket-orientated api, giving extra information about whether that ip can be used for the given socket types (tcp, udp). This causes a situation where it can return the same ip multiple times for different socket types.

This should be expanded into a proper api, to expose all this information to callers (also allowing IPv4/6 only queries). And perhaps lookup_host could be changed to give just a list of unique ips.

Since I've now mostly implemented getaddrinfo and getnameinfo, the API surface seems sufficient for the moment.
