It would be really helpful to have an SVG of just the Electron logo icon (ie. no text) - this PR could really use it, since Nodegit's website is currently using Atom's logo when it should be the Electron logo.
The website says that current release is 0.36.8
when in reality it is 0.36.11
These need to be handled so that they point to the right place in both the Electron repo and website.
A program that runs a Desktop Friendly version of http://whap.tk I first heard about Electron from Stremio, and after that... (A few days with electron, and finally electron boilerplate) I made it!
This website is a resource for students, to learn and prepare for their AP world history course. This website, and app is fully managed by students!
Now to the app itself.
Depending on the size of the App, different ways to use it will appear.
If needed, I can link the ico file in an email.

Some links in the original documentation are not being parsed and updated correctly for the site electron/electron#4500.
All the links to APIs on the http://electron.atom.io/docs/v0.36.7/tutorial/desktop-environment-integration/ page are broken. (e.g., app.addRecentDocument, Tray API, etc.)
For instance "Tray API" leads to http://electron.atom.io/docs/v0.36.7/tutorial/api/tray.md#traydisplayballoonoptions-windows when it should lead to http://electron.atom.io/docs/v0.36.7/api/tray#traydisplayballoonoptions-windows

Would be cool to have a nice looking release notes page similar to what atom.io has.
https://github.com/blog/1996-releases-metadata-for-github-pages has shipped which is cool for this.

After merging #141 I got the following warning email about pygments
being no longer supported.
The page build completed successfully, but returned the following warning:
You are attempting to use the 'pygments' highlighter, which is currently unsupported on GitHub Pages. Your site will use 'rouge' for highlighting instead. To suppress this warning, change the 'highlighter' value to 'rouge' in your '_config.yml'. For more information, see https://help.github.com/articles/page-build-failed-config-file-error/#fixing-highlighting-errors.

Love the new site and the branding π β€οΈ
Cross platform desktop application shell
I think this tagline should be more descriptive, at least on the homepage. It doesn't really explain what Electron is if you don't know what a "desktop application shell" is. "Build cross platform applications in web technologies" or something similar might be better.
Just saw that GitBook's desktop app uses Electron under the hood: https://www.gitbook.com/editor
Is it worth adding to the list of featured apps?
Moved from electron/electron#2342.
The documentation for browser window options lacks proper indentation. Everything below web-preferences should be indented one level. Currently it looks like, for example, text-areas-are-resizable is a property of options while it is a property of web-preferences. The Markdown seems to be OK, but the documentation page isn't properly indented.
Electron's site announces the availability of features (auto-update for example) and only after reading the docs one realizes that those features are actually implemented only for X, Y or Z OS. Please fix (by adding side notes or *
s) as you're misleading people and making them create wrong ideas about electron.

Hi,
I would like to use the following 2 photos on a github pages website ( located in your images folder ):
Is it alright that I use those photos as-is on a webpage? If so, are there any citations you would like me to provide?
Some background info into my project. I am designing a Natural Language Processing package in Python. To showcase how my library is open-source, I would like to use the fork image. In addition, I would like to use the os-box image to demonstrate that my library is multi-platform. The name of the project is regex4dummies if you would like to look at it before giving me permission.
Thanks,
Vale Tolpegin
Ok, I've put together a rough layout of the elements we listed in the Inventory. π
I'm not wedded to anything here: colors, alignment, whateverβI just wanted to get the basics on here and pulled in some Atom styles, a place for us to get started hacking πͺ at.
I added a section that wasn't on the Inventory but could be nice, if we can think of content. The section is just below the header, with the placeholder diagrams. We could put something here explaining a bit more about what Electron is/does.
The markdown parser we are using on the site is generating different links from the raw markdown than what the parser on GitHub.com the Website generates π
Probably should just start generating the site ourselves and then pushing it up so that we can use all the π gems to make it as close to .com as possible.

The website is at http://caret.io and the icon - at http://caret.io/icon/[email protected].
Last release note on the website was for 0.26.1.
I see no way to navigate between all the pages in the documentation section. Instead of being able to simply go from API>Synopsis to API>Process Object, you have to go navigate back and forward to the main documentation page for every navigation.
Possible suggestions:
Discussion here:

It is useful to use link with hash to reference a certain API in the documents, like this:

Hi,
I'd like to add Stremio - it's a media center to organize your movies / series / channels and receive notifications about them.
It also allows playback through an Add-ons system - right now it has add-ons for YouTube, Filmon.tv and a third-party add-on for streaming from torrents.
It's a nice tech example because it also uses WebChimera.js, i.e. binds electron with libvlc.
Icon here: http://www.strem.io/images/stremio-logo-small.png
BTW: according to CONTRIBUTE.md, I should open an issue. Should I PR as well?
In Translation in Japanese #20, we are discussing about it and we try to decide the way.
I think we have to create the guideline based on Translation in Japanese #20 for people to translate docs/
easily.
This is probably a stupid error β the cause seems pretty obvious β but I figured I'd throw it out there.
I installed Jekyll β sudo gem install jekyll
β but I observed the error described in the title.
Installing Bundler β sudo gem install bundler
β fixed the error.
Obviously, I'm not developing with Ruby on the computer I'm using!
If you agree it's sensible, I'll submit a PR to add a note to install Bundler to the README.

The dialog doc (http://electron.atom.io/docs/v0.27.0/api/dialog/) for showMessageBox doesn't state what options are required. I ran into this trying to open a box w/o specifying buttons.

Sync is a business chat tool that will boost productivity for a team, and of course built with Electron for Mac and Windows!
Currently updating the documentation here when there is a new minor release of Electron is a manual process of running a script in this repository. Having this be built into the process of the release would make it happen more timely β
@zcbenz how would you prefer to do that? We could have a script in atom/electron
that runs a another process and checks out atom/electron.atom.io
, runs script/docs
and then pushes it to master
here (or even opens up a Pull Request). Would you be ok having something like that in Electron or you would you prefer it be set up as a web hook and executed elsewhere?
It's important that all users are able to read a website with ease be it when being viewed by someone having colour deficits or when viewed on a black and white screen.
We should be aiming for all colours to be at least AA compliant.
Unfortunately the Electron website doesn't pass AA compliance in a lot of areas- this means that the contrast is not enough for users with vision problems to be able to view the text easily.
All text should pass AA compliance for it to be good enough for everyone to use. If you'd like me to talk through this in more detail I'd be happy to.
@connors mentioned that you might be redesigning the website anyway @simurai?
about translation in Japanese
This issue is discussed in atom/electron Translation in Japanese #1496 before.
I've created a pull request (#93) to add my app Kakapo to the featured apps list.
I built Kakapo initially using React + Reflux and then went to see how far I could take the app by creating a native mobile (https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/kakapo/id1046673139) and desktop (http://www.kakapo.co/app.html#desktop) experience too.
With React Native and Electron, I feel that the future is very bright indeed!
The code is available at https://github.com/bluedaniel/kakapo-app
I've created an app called 'Hain', An 'alt+space' launcher for Windows with Electron.
so please add it to app list.
thank you.
