Agreed, @defunkt's suggestion is much more approachable. Is "in" the right word there grammatically?

I think we can get more descriptive on the tagline, but maybe a hybrid of the two? I want to keep the tone of the brand as well. Let me know your thoughts on the below.
Cross platform desktop application shell

What about...
Electron: Subatomic shell to build native apps with web technologies

I feel you @cameronmcefee can we say "with" if we're going that route?

I'd advocate for describing what you can do with Electron over describing the Electron software itself in the big tagline. Subtle difference but basically I mean something like:
Build cross platform desktop apps with web technologies.
as opposed to
Toolkit for building cross platform apps with web technologies.
I also think it'd be best to avoid using "shell" when explaining Electron as for many programmers a shell is something different.
Atom itself offers the ability to "Install Shell Commands":
Finally I'd suggest going with "desktop apps" vs "native apps" as Electron isn't really for building apps using native components and saying "desktop" makes it clear that it's not for mobile development.

I think this works, any oppositions to just updating it now?

Great! Thanks for the clarification @defunkt.
@kevinsawicki - go for it.

- How would an API look like? This would be impossible with `contextIsolation` (you cannot pass an `HTMLElement` around). Your first problem with cropping could be solved by passing `rect` to `capturePage`, e.g. via `getBoundingClientRect` which can be safely obtained in the renderer and serialized. What's left is that you seem to have issues with transparency not being conserved. I assume because you want to capture only a given element without things like the background color of the `body` being rendered as well? Or in the case of `getBoundingClientRect` you wouldn't want elements that overlap it (e.g. position: fixed) to also be captured?
