I dont see an advanced option tab?

I dont see an advanced option tab? And when I pick Master Quest all tabs go away.So theirs no way for me to do what you said in reponse to my inquiry today unless Im missing something. "In fact, Master Quest is already ported to Rev 0 as an option in "Additional Options". From there, you can also select and combine all other options such as "No Blur"

[BUG] Copying Files Softlock

Description
It seems like if you enable redux using OOT 1.0 with additional options & redux, when choosing any file to copy, the game/menu will Softlock. it will still Softlock even if you enable redux and uncheck everything in selected options under redux tab. (Using the latest version - Patcher64+ Tool v19.1.7 (2022-08-31)

Expected behavior
Able to copy files in the file select menu of OOT redux.

16:9 Widescreen (Advanced) option does not work on Wii U virtual console inject. Simple proposed fix.

I have run into an irritating problem. The option for advanced 16:9 Widescreen as applied by this tool does not work on Wii U Virtual Console Injection. The game freezes after the N64 logo. The simplified widescreen does work, but that just seems to re-adjust the HUD elements, and is not true 16:9.

In the tool-tip, it states that the advanced widescreen is based off of the patch by gamemasterplc, with additions from Nerrel and GhostlyDark. The normal unmodified patch by gamemasterplc does work on Wii U Virtual Console Inject. However, the selectable options and redux features do not work when using this tool to patch a rom prepatched by gamemasterplc's widescreen patch.

So a proposed fix for Wii U players would be to add an option that patches the game to 16:9 using gamemastlerplc's patch, but without the additions by Nerrel and GhostlyDark. That way it will most likely work on Wii U with both true widescreen and redux features offered by the tool.

It would be very helpful if you would consider making this additional option for Wii U users.

[BUG] GC Collector's Edition Majora's Mask doesn't work with Redux or widescreen and does not downgrade

Description
Similarly to #13 and #44, it appears my Majora's Mask extracted from GC Collector's Edition is not running properly in this tool in some cases. The ROM itself works in emulators perfectly, but it seems the ROM does not work in the Patcher when checking Redux or Widescreen (Advanced).

My GC Collector's Edition OoT downgraded with this downgrading tool worked perfectly! Thank you for all your hard work on this. Love this tool.

How to Reproduce

  1. Extract Majora's Mask ROM from GC Collector's Edition by following the same steps as extracting the OoT ROM for OoT Randomizer.
  2. Load the MM ROM into Patcher64+ Tool. (The Revision dropdown only shows Rev0 (US) - dunno if that's a problem)
  3. Notice the "Downgrade" checkbox is not available. From its description in the ReadMe, I cannot tell if this is actually an issue. However, I would love to know how to patch my ROM into a true Rev0 ROM if possible.
  4. Select patch options. Make sure to check Redux or Widescreen (Advanced). The handful of other options I tried seem to work like Pictobox fix and Extended Draw Distance.
  5. Click Patch Selected Options. Notice that it seems to skip the "Compress Majora's Mask ROM" step in the status box.
  6. Wait for a beeping noise to signal it is finished. The status box indicates it is finished as well.
  7. Note that the ROM file generated (TJsMM_redux_patched.z64) is 0 KB and is completely empty.

Expected behavior
Patching Majora's Mask produces a ROM that functions.

Patcher64+ Tool appears to recognize my MM ROM just fine:

Building from source

How can I build this tool from the source code and what dependencies do I need? I'm not on Windows.

Cannot Patch Odyssey into sm64 us wii vc wad

steps taken:

  1. selecting a sm64 us wii vc wad that patch options section appears to work with - (got black bar removal to work, 60fps is questionable)
  2. selecting working odyssey rom 65536kb
  3. hitting inject
  4. attempting to play through dolphin before running on wii

alternate steps taken:

  1. select sm64 us wii vc wad that works
  2. browse to odyssey patch included in files
  3. patch rom
  4. attempting to play through dolphin before running on wii

ive tried injecting then patching using included file as well but to no avail, if this script can patch odyssey perhaps include a more detailed or even more simplified "how" in the readme, have tried a fair whack of internet digging and this seems like the best way to get sm64 odyssey running on my wii, love the effort on the 3k lines of powershell by the way, youve done an epic job wrapping these tools together into winforms

OoT "2x Text Speed" option not working

Hi!

I recently tried using this tool to apply the "2x Text Speed" option for Ocarina of Time, but it doesn't seem to do anything when patching ("3x Text Speed" did work, however). For reference, I'm running Patcher64+ Tool.ps1 directly with PowerShell instead of using the included .exe from the release.

I was able to get it working by modifying Ocarina.psm1 at line 562:
if (IsChecked $Redux.TextSpeed2x)

Changing TextSpeed2x to Text.Speed2x let the option apply correctly for me.

Virus detected in Win10

Hi there, sorry for my ignorance, I didn't find any post about this and I got a little worried. When I download the latest archive and extract it Windows 10 detects a virus in Patcher64+ Tool.exe, saying it is a potential Trojan:Script/Wacatac.B!ml, maybe it's because it uses PowerShell to work? Can you confirm there aren't any viruses in this? Thank you.

Bomb Upgrades Order Messed Up When Changing Max Capacity in OoT

When I change the max capacity of bombs to 30, 60, 99 like in Wind Waker the first bomb bag upgrade (which should be the big bomb bag) is changed to the biggest bomb bag. Changing any of the max bombs to other values also change it in other ways like getting a second big bomb bag instead of the biggest bomb bag. It only seems to happen with bombs for whatever reason every other upgrade works as intended. If I were to guess it has something to do with the association of bombs and bombchus.

"Failed! Could not find file." while trying to patch OoT to Redux with custom options.

Patcher64+ Tool 23_03_2021 19_55_40

I am confused as to how to input customized settings into OoT Redux. Redux by itself works fine, but I want to enable some settings that's located in the patch options category such as 3x speed text and skipping some cutscenes. But if I click "Patch Selected Option", after enabling some settings in the program, the program would crash with the error message "Failed! Could not find file."

I would appreciate any pointers as to how to make it all work :)

Majora's Mask tunic color option doesn't work!

Hey all!
I'm sorry if this isn't a very good bug report, but I want to help this project, even if it's a small contribution.

In MM, everything works correctly. That is, I have the options and redux enabled and adjusted to my liking. The only thing I have tested that doesn't work is the Kokiri Tunic option in the colors tab.

I hope this is descriptive enough. Glad to help.

Feature Suggestion – OoT Master Quest support

Considering that the Debug GC version of OoT MQ is already supported, would it be possible to support OoT MQ? (PAL/GC)

I would like to change the HUD colors back to N64 but I can't find a tool for that.

Thanks.

Majora's Mask not Downgrading properly

I'm trying to downgrade my GC MM rom, and it's not completely downgrading properly. The checksum is wrong, and Patcher 64+ doesn't recognize it as a valid MM rom. This is the checksum I get back when I try to get a look at it.
image

Not patching correctly.

After selecting all my options and patching, I cannot get it to run properly in anything. Wii VC Wad injection causes the app to appear as unknown, Project64 crashes when trying to load the rom, and when injecting into Wii U VC all the characters and buildings are invisible. Are there any dependencies this requires besides PowerShell, or are there any options that are incompatible with each other?

A Patched Rom.

Feature Suggestion – GUI Indicator that Window is Updating

Hi Admentus,

I just had one suggestion to make the GUI a little more obvious to newer users.

When switching the or selected , the GUI does not update until all of the options are loaded. For games with a lot of options (OOT/MM), this can take a while (long enough for Windows to display "Not Responding" in the window title). There's no feedback that this is what's happening, and newer users may not understand that this is how the program works.

It would be useful to have e.g. a status message or color change to mark the old window contents as stale, before blocking to load the new options (I'm hoping that is is feasible to do synchronously, as I imagine that an asynchronous indicator would require a substantial re-write or may be impossible here).

This obviously isn't a high-priority issue & doesn't affect functionality, but I just thought I would make the suggestion. Thanks again for all your amazing work on this project.

Added universal "Remove Filter" for all Wii VC WADs??

Dear Admentus:

In the release Patcher64+ Tool v13.0.0, you stated:
"Added universal "Expand Memory" and "Remove Filter" for all Wii VC WADs"

I looked the entire Internet, and I found that you were the key to remove the horrible dark filter Nintendo used on the VC on the Wii.

The problem is that this is not working for NES games, only on N64 wads you have the option to "choose" the removing of the filter. Do you think it could be possible to add this feature to NES wads?

You had given me a HUGE hope when you said UNIVERSAL and "for all Wii VC WADs" and thought this extended to NES games too.

Please I ask you to let me know if this could ever be possible,

My best regards and thanks.
Ignacio.

Zelda 1 Animated Tiles results in broken ROM

I've tried in both Mesen (which is supposed to be a highly-accurate emulator) and the Everdrive N8 Pro, but Animated Tiles results in a ROM that just hangs on a black screen on startup.

Addendum; It happens when also patching in Link's Awakening GFX, without the LA GFX patch Animated Tiles works fine.

[INCOMPLETE] [Ocarina of Time] GC Scheme option not applied in certain text boxes

Description
With the GC Scheme option enabled, at least these three text boxes still have their original N64 text. This also might apply to other instances in the game, but I haven't found them yet.

Additional info: The original file I patched was revision 1.0 of Ocarina of Time, and I had both "Enable Options" and "Enable Redux" checked.

2x Damage Multiplier in Majora's Mask doesn't work[BUG]

Setting the damage multiplier for Majora's Mask (for "Additional Options & Redux") to 2x does not produce the intended result. It actually does the default 1x damage. I tested this with the Skulltula in the Bomber's Hideout by running into it and seeing how much damage I received. In the original version, a hit from a Skulltula produces damage of 1/2 heart. With the 2x damage option, the damage produced is still 1/2 heart, though it should be 1 heart. Oddly, 4x and 8x damage does work as intended. 4x produces damage of 2 hearts, and 8x damage makes it a kill.

Majora's Mask Redux: Ocean Deed Side-Quest Impossbile to complete

For Majora's Mask Redux, I can't properly exchange the ocean deed for the Business Scrub's Deku Flower at Ikana Canyon.

After he says "I'm not asking for it for free. I'll give you this!" The Ocean Deed is taken but the player isn't given anything along with Business Scrub remaining in the flower, softlocking the side-quest and preventing the player from getting the heart piece on the other side of the canyon.

The only option I enabled for the patcher was enabling the D-pad Layout on the right side in the redux options.

How do we update?

Does the program just close when it finishes updating or am I experiencing a connection failure causing the update to close?

My patcher says its 18.0.0 & I ran the updater twice.

When installed on real Wii NAND, channel only appears in Data Management as question mark

Description
After creating a patched VC WAD for Ocarina of Time, upon installation to a real Wii the channel is missing from the Wii Menu. When checking Wii Data Management and Channels, the channel appears as a question mark with a question mark title. Patched channel opens successfully through USB Loader GX, but cannot be moved to SD card due to no appearance on real Wii Menu.

How to Reproduce

  1. Patch Ocarina of Time WAD with Redux using any configuration
  2. Move patched WAD to USB drive
  3. Use WiiModLite (A homebrew app that allows for installing WAD files directly to the Wii system memory as channels) to install the patched WAD
  4. Check Data Management > Channels to find question mark channel

Expected Behavior
I had expected for the channel to install and appear on the Wii Menu just like any legit Virtual Console channel, as this I have had success with a Super Mario 64 specific ROM hack WAD before. In addition, my expectation was to be able to move the channel to an SD card for easy storage due to the incredibly small storage space on Wii.

While I don't currently have access to the log file due to being on a different device, I will add it tonight.

Thank you so much for reading! I apologize if I've done something wrong, but the way I went about doing this seemed like the normal way to do it.

Wad's being broke when being patched with oot redux[BUG]

Description

[BUG] Majora's Mask | Can't Learn New Wave Bossa Nova

I honestly don't believe this is even the right place to report this, but I have literally no other option right now, unless I get redirected elsewhere (which, please do).

Description
The game, for some unknown reason, won't let me pull out the Zora Guitar in the Marine Research Lab, and because of that, I can't learn the New Wave Bossa Nova from the Zora tadpoles. Oddly, it's only the Zora Guitar, and only in the Research Lab. If I'm in any other form or location, it pulls the instrument out as expected.

How to Reproduce
I don't know of any other options that would interfere with this kind of thing, but I had Underwater Ocarina disabled by force since I had different Ocarina icons enabled. I also had the D-Pad functionality enabled.

Expected behavior
I expected Zora Link to be able to pull out the Zora Guitar no problem so I can properly learn the song.

Screenshots
(Notice how the Zora Guitar icons on both the C-Buttons and D-Pad are faded and unusable.)
