SOCD + SNAP TAP about csgo-osx-linux HOT 32 CLOSED

SOCD and snap tap are cheats. what if a keyboard (more like its software so its literally AHK) will get "auto repeat" button function? will this also be allowed? or as some call this stuff unfair advantage

I agree, but at the end of the day I think the genie is out of the bottle and now it's an arms race. Buy the cheater gear or be left behind

isn't it one? what's going to be next? displays that scan for enemies and highlight them? maybe displays that watch the in game radar (if a friendly spots an enemy) and render the enemy so you can pre aim them? Snap tap would be very easy to detect thanks to subtick, and it seems that they are working on it I wonder when the SnapTap/SOCD developers add a small delay just to not trip off anticheats, shameless.

This brands are in direct partnership with Valve. Just go and buy better keyboard like u did with ur monitor back in the day. I can't find thread where u complain about unfair disadvantage in 60 hz vs 360 and i can find anywhere u post about GNU/Linux lag stutters and delay compared to the other OS clients. Plus dunno why you use 3 accounts ?

Socd does work on wooting, i have enabled it on the beta firmware and disabled it to see the difference and its working in the finals, overwatch 2 so far, havent tested cs2 but i bet it will work just like it does in the other games

Or what? You bought a piece of hardware that gives you an objective advantage over other players. Counter strafing is literally one of the most core mechanics in the game and you bought equipment that does it for you. Cheater gear.

I purchased a Razer Huntesman keyboard, and naturally, the only thing I can do through the Razer-open software is change the RGB settings. I also discovered that not only Razer, but also Wooting, Redragon, Apex, Logitech, and many other brands have had rapid-trigger and snap-tap/SOCD features for quite some time. Essentially, people have been using these features to gain an advantage while remaining silent about it.

if you read what my comment said, it was about the youtube comment you did and even then you are bringing in a picture of me from my youtube channel for no reason into the github issue, telling me to go get a job when i make money on youtube, not about the github issue, your issue for the game has been solved, you will get kicked from games if you use any of those features, same with me i cant use snap tap anymore on my wooting, none of the valve employees need to respond to you or to anyone, they are not obligated to do so, also these features have been all over youtube and have been discussed publicly so valve's devs 100% knew about these hardware features in these keyboards, as they already knew about the config scripts people use that get you banned or kicked

I doubt Razer's driver works on Linux. You may have more luck if you configure the keyboard on Windows, not sure the keyboards keeps its configuration when rebooting on Linux

Wooting works great on Linux, the software is fully Linux compatible but haven't tried SOCD, kinda hoped Valve would step in and ban this but not sure this is the right place to debate

I doubt Razer's driver works on Linux. You may have more luck if you configure the keyboard on Windows, not sure the keyboards keeps its configuration when rebooting on Linux

I'm closing this thread since none of the moderators have taken the responsibility to answer the question. It seems clear that there is no consensus or guarantee of the safe use of alternative software that isn't closed-source, profit-driven, and catering to Valve. In short, if anyone wants to take the risk and play from Linux, they're free to do so, but it’s at their own risk. The lack of response from the moderators—yet again—is disappointing.

Personally, I'm not a fan of this situation, but thousands of others are.

Gamers are slowly but surely transitioning to the world of Linux, but unfortunately, trolling in the forums and dismissive attitudes are only slowing things down. I hope the people working on FOSS don't lose their motivation because of these trolls who report posts for abuse while hypocritically upvoting themselves.

I won’t be deterred, though. I'll continue to share useful information here and in the Steam forums so that people are informed.

If you don't understand that the GitHub page for CS2 is not the proper place to ask the game developer for help on using peripheral features/1st party software (not developed by Valve or even specific to the game) on Linux, no one here can help you.
