What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Receive an MMS message
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect to have a configurable way to have it set off Klaxon (and optionally
consume it) or ignore it
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v.21 KaosFroyo v38
Please provide any additional information below.
I see that Klaxon can't parse MMS messages for the substring. However, it would
be great for those who know definitively whether their on-call pages do or do
not come in as MMS for Klaxon to either blindly treat any MMS as a "page" and
do the pager options as set (other than, of course, substring -- i.e. consume
message or not, etc.), or treat any MMS as "not a page."

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run "A2SD reinstall" from console, moving Klaxon to EXT2 partition on SD Card
2. Receive a text message from anyone
3. MP3 on SD Card plays continuously until phone is unlocked, even though
Klaxon doesn't match sender correctly
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Klaxon normally wouldn't play any alarm/music in this case, since sender wasn't
matched.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version 0.26, on Android 2.3.3 (HTC Sense 2.1)
Please provide any additional information below.
Unchecking "On Call" fixes this behaviour.
Restoring Klaxon from Titanium Backup (to NAND) gets rid of issue also.

App needs an option for a window pop-up notify message like:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.blntsoft.emailpopup
This would allow quick access to the message rather than manually starting the
app.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. receive an alert
2. respond Yes or No to an alert
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The icon to the left is the grey cross icon. We have a green and a red icon
associated with the Yes and No actions already, it would be nice to have
that icon presented next to the alert so one can see at a glance which
alerts have been responded to already.

Need to be able to configure the display of additional lines per text message
on the main summary page. It should allow addition lines of the message body to
be displayed per text (eg 1,2,3,4...all). I'm not sure if it would look better
to be a fixed size, or to match the length of the message if it is shorter than
the setting. This allows quicker viewing of the information rather than reading
each message on a different screen.

I noticed this in the source:
//FIXME: this is an unordered broadcast, and cannot be aborted.
// this means that all sms-received pages will also appear in the sms app.
Any chance of ever having this happen? It would make the app absolutely perfect
for my needs :) I
don't know a single thing about Android programming or even Java otherwise I
would try to fix it
and submit a patch if I did.

2. Select to "Also Match Message Body"
3. Text a message containing "TEST" to yourself.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Sender substring matches are confusing when the sender is listed in the
Contacts database. the sender displayed is a contact name, and klaxon only
matches against the originating phone number, or email address (if email-to-
sms gateway is used).
this should be modified to use a Contact OR a sender string match.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Configure Klaxon to consume SMS messages.
2. Set "not oncall".
3. SMS messages pass through to other SMS apps
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expecting "not oncall" to turn off notifications from SMS pages, not alert via
other SMS applications. As a workaround, I leave Oncall set and configure alert
sound to be silent, turn off vibrate.

For oncall, it's often that if you haven't responded within N minutes, it
gets escalated to other people. If I have forgotten my phone at home/on my
desk, I wouldn't want it to keep beeping forever.
A configurable option to stop alerting after N minutes would rock.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Page SMS's may have a trigger word in that is not always capitalised the
same way.
For example, NSRI, Nsri, nsri should all be able to activate klaxon.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Similar to what pagers do, it would be nice if it supported configurable
private time. When I'm not primary, I might still be interested in getting
pages, but probably not during the night. This could be achieved with two
optional settings, "Private time starts:" (e.g., "01:00") and "Private time
ends:" (e.g., "10:00").

When there's an incoming call in Android, it is possible to silence it
(it's kept alive, but it no longer rings aloud) by hitting any of the
volume buttons (up or down). I would like for Klaxon to do the same.
When I'm oncall at my desktop, and I hear the alert in the phone, I can
more easily ack it via other means (IRC, web, whatever), and I just want
to get working on it. Having to unlock the phone to get Klaxon to shut
up is an unwelcome step (hitting one of the volume buttons, on the other
hand, is immediate).
By the way, thanks for Klaxon, it's great!

The vibrate length (time) should be configurable. A standard pager will vibrate
for an extended amount of time on the first page and then for a short time for
each reminder. It would be nice to be able to configure the length of time for
the vibrations.

1. Get a page from a TelAlert system that has a ticket number in it
2. Reply to the text and TelAlert will not acknowledge it
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Would like to be able to reply with the original Subject line from the page in
the first line of the acknowledge page
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
V 0.21 Android 2.2 on a Motorola Droid with VZW
The only reason why I ask this is a lot of people in our IT dept are switching
from BB and iPhone over to the Androids and everyone here is using Klaxon for
our paging software. Currently if we get a page we have to switch over to our
SMS app and then reply back and put the ticket number that comes in the subject
line into the body of the sms and then our acknowledge string. It would be
nice if there was an option to tell Klaxon to either look for a substring in
the original page and then stick that in the canned reply or just an option to
include subj in reply. Thanks.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. In SMS setting set a sender lets say we call it "notify"
2. Select also match message body in sms setting
3. Send sms with following in message body "notify123".
If the word is not a complete word eg. notify123 in this case, the parser does
not recognize it. on the other hand notify.123 etc. is recognized. On the other
hand if pattern is specified in just the sender field, the sms gets consumed as
a page fine like it should.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Just like sender field, the app should be able to consume message as a page if
word exists as a pattern in body instead of a complete word.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Android 2.1 on At&t aria

Would like to add an enhancement request, for the ability to suspend alerting
for a defined period of time. For example, if someone is going into a 2 hour
movie, alerting can be temporarily disabled. An example would be as follows.
1. Open app, and select suspend alerts.
2. Specify 2 hours.
3. App goes into not on call mode.
4. After 2 hours, app automatically returns to on call mode.
This would be great for those of us whose memories are not that great, and can
forget to re-enable on call mode.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Configure Klaxon to use Labeled Fields parser
2. Send test email to <yournumber>@txt.att.net (which uses labeled fields in
their SMS)
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The Klaxon display for the page nicely shows the subject, but it doesn't show
the "Frm:" field at all. It does have a Sender: line where it displays the
originating phone number, but that that is not as useful as the Frm: field
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Klaxon v.26 (at least that's the top entry in the changelog - the Version
button in the preferences doesn't do anything)

Since the release of 13.1, klaxon is requiring api level 4. (i believe this
corresponds to android 1.6). many devices are still operating on 1.5.
since the 1.6 feature (consume sms messages) is optional, find a way to work
around the api requirement, and just gray out the feature if 1.6 is not
present.

Klaxon is set to consume message or not. I have tried [email protected],
@domain.com, and domain.com for Sender

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Sending a page through [email protected]
2.
3.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
We use an alerting software for server monitoring, nagios, which sends an email
to my out outlook which I in turn forward to my number using the ATT paging
system.
It catches the message but only displays the first 4 or so lines not the entire
message.
If I have it not intersept the message and deliver it to messages i see the
entire message.
