openbarbell-v3's Issues

V3 no longer registering reps

My OpenBarbell V3 is no longer registering reps. The display lights up as expected when the unit is turned on. LED3 does not light. Is it supposed to be on all the time?

Based on the design, it looks like LED3 shines on the Encoder and the spokes in the string wheel block and pass light. Counting how quickly and how many times this happens is how the device measures velocity and distance?

I rely heavily on my OBBV3 for my training and have been without it since 01/08. Please help me get back up and running.

Strong made of steel not Kevlar; spooling issue

I had to take the openbarbell apart for the first time since buying it. While performing bench press with it, it snagged on the spindle of the spool. I took it apart and re-spooled it; pulled it a few times and it happened again. Opened it again and realized the string isn’t Kevlar; respooled the v3 again. It seems like the spool is loose in the housing.

Feature Request: History Tab Filter

It would be awesome if there was an option on the History tab in the app to filter based on Exercise and possibly also on total number of reps in a set.

I typically use singles at an 8 RPE to calibrate my working sets. I find that if my velocity on a single has increased since the last time I performed an exercise, then I can safely add more weight to working sets of RPE 9, 9.5, and 10 without missing reps. To do this now, I have to "tag" the number of total reps in the set, export my data to drive, open in Sheets, then filter on "Tags" and "Exercise" to find the data I'm looking for.

This can get a bit awkward in the gym in the middle of a training session.

Thanks for considering my request!
