After installing the nuget package "Twitter.Bootstrap.MVC" in Visual Studio 2013, I get an error when trying to create any new controllers.
The Error:
"The parameter searchFolders does not contain any entries. Provide at least on folder to search file. Parameter name: searchFolders"
I am not really sure if this is the right place for this, but my search to resolve the issue all pointed to a nuget package causing the issues so this is literally the only one I have installed.
issue from email ([email protected]):
the images in the variables.less file reference images in a /img/ directory but you packaged the images in the /content/images folder..that is not correct, the correct thing to do would be to deploy the img folder so you dont have to modify the less file that the project maintains
Your package has a dependency for AspNetMvc, which has been deprecated.
The official MVC package has moved to Microsoft.AspNet.Mvc.
More info: https://nuget.org/packages/AspNetMvc and https://nuget.org/packages/Microsoft.AspNet.Mvc
If you could update your dependencies, it would avoid us having to install an unnecessary package.
Thank you.
All of the .less files are placed under Content/less. It might be more clear under something like Content/bootstrap. Thanks for putting this together.
The latest version of bootstrap on nuget is 3.1.0.
Trying to update this package results in a dependency resolution failure.
Twitter.Bootstrap.Less (Bootstrap Less Source)
Let choose which less provider will be used by end-user. Some of users are using dotless and dotless optimization engine so there is no necessary to use additional Less.js parser.
The Twitter.Bootstrap.MVC,Sample & Templates are not updated for Bootstrap 3. Any plan to get them updated?
As titled
Bootstrap 3.0.2 was released and the Bootstrap.Less package was not updated. Will outercurve be maintaining a similar package?

Why not put bootstrap-*.css in Content/css folder?
Thanks
Hi, could you please update the Twitter.Bootstrap.Less package to Bootstrap 3.3.6.
This project is still active or has been replaced?
Please change variables.less //** to //--
When i open this less file in visual studio the code is not correct.
In CSS and Less this is /* Comment */
Hi sirkirby, I have installed the latest Bootstrap for MVC 5 (version 2.1.6) on my MVC 5.1.2 project (using Visual Studio 2013 Express for Web Update 1), but nothing changes, so what the advantages by installing this package?
I've agreed to redirect the Twitter.Bootstrap package to the new Outercurve package Bootstrap. The next Twitter.Bootstrap package published will be empty with a dependency on the matching version of Bootstrap. I'll also include a readme explaining the situation.
I installed the package against an ASP.NET MVC 3 project and the package's dependency on ASP.NET MVC 4 forced me to "upgrade" ASP.NET MVC, which is not what I wanted or expected.
If the only reason for the ASP.NET MVC 4 dependency is bundling support, I'd say drop the bundling support (and/or move it to another package).
The previous relative path ("../images/glyphicons...") in variables.less worked well with the dotless handler. The updated path ("images/glyphicons...") doesn't resolve. Thanks.
I'm just wondering what happen with the icons?
I did the following steps:
So the result in the above steps should make me able to use bootstrap for my project ( and it does) but when a write an icon tag such as: < i class="icon-search" > *< / i >* the glyphons icons just wont appear
So i wonder if I'm missing something? I dont want to make use of other solutions ( not using nuget or weird stuff ) because the purpose of this nuget is to be ready for use after installing, right?
Keeping with the awesome job by the way!!
Greetings.
Edit: fixing some grammar. Sry i'm not a master in english ( yet )

Issue:
Package installation silently downgrades the installed jQuery package from 1.10.2 to 1.9.1 (notably the minimum required jQuery version for the bootstrap package), which is unexpected behaviour.
Other info:
Our packages.config contains the following line for the jQuery versions to limit it to the 1.x branch:
<package id="jQuery" version="1.9.1" targetFramework="net45" allowedVersions="[1.0,2.0)" />

Hi the package missed the "mixins" folder?
see mixins.less
@import "mixins/hide-text.less";
etc...
If you would rename the JS file from
"bootstrap.min.js"
to
"bootstrap-2.3.1.min.js"
Then in MVC4 it's very easy to include it in a bundle like this:
bundles.Add(new ScriptBundle("~/Scripts/Jquery").Include("~/Scripts/bootstrap-{version}.js"));
Because when you upgrade to a new version the version number is automatically parsed, but when you build the project on release it will include the ".min.js" file and when building in debug it will take the regular one.
On the HotTowel SPA example the view uses the nabvar-inner class but it is not defined on the navbar.less file, is the nabvar-inner part of the bootstrap library?
https://github.com/twbs/bootstrap/releases/tag/v3.3.0
I can do a pull request with updated sources if that's helpful.
I'm just offering this issue as a placeholder to inform other users of this package that there's a new release that's newer than sources in this package.
If you install Twitter.Bootstrap.MVC version 1.1.6 via NuGet, it has some issues with upgrading the jQuery version from 1.8x to 1.9x if there are other dependencies on it, and it ends up deleting the jQuery files. This was fixed by re-including the files.
When you open the project in a new workspace, with NuGet package restore enabled, and build the project, you get the following error (even on multiple runs):
The schema version of 'Twitter.Bootstrap.MVC' is incompatible with version 1.7.30402.9028 of NuGet.
Please upgrade NuGet to the latest version from http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=213942
My NuGet version is 2.2.4x.
But if you open up the NuGet UI and click restore to restore the packages, there is no issue!
Hi,
With your last nuget the btn-mini doesn't work, i had to update the bootstrap css to get it work.
Just update the nuget with the latest bootstrap files.
Thanks.
there are a lot of developers that don't use a microsoft technology for developing with twitter bootstrap, and therefor cannot (or don't want to) use nuget for such packages.
It would be very helpful if there was a public git repository for using the RTL version of twitter bootstrap.
Thanks

Hello,
Do you have any plans to have a Sass version package of this package as well?
Thanks, Sam
twbs is now creating the less nuget package for boostrap, so i'll retire the Twitter.Bootstrap.Less
namespace on nuget and redirect just as I did for the compiled css Twitter.Bootstrap
package.
See issue twbs/bootstrap#16692 for more details
Hi,
Your 'Twitter.Bootstrap.Less' NuGet package has a dependency on jQuery v1.10.2 or higher, while Bootstrap itself has a depency on jQuery version 1.9 or higher, see here: https://github.com/twbs/bootstrap/blob/master/bower.json
Your package forces me to use a higher version of jQuery than required. For another library I need v1.9.1 of jQuery and this can't be installed because of this.
Can you decrease/lower your dependency version of jQuery? It should still work fine.
Kind regards,
Maarten
Many email and twitter requests for an update to 3.3.1. Sorry for the delay!
Shouldn't bootstrap.js be included in the bootstrap.less package?

I would like to bring issue 61 in erichexter/twitter.bootstrap.mvc to your attention. The package naming used by sirkirby's package twitter.bootstrap.mvc
and erichexter's package twitter.bootstrap.mvc4
is confusing. I'd appreciate your thoughts on this matter.
Can the NuGet packages be updated for the latest version of Bootstrap, please?
http://blog.getbootstrap.com/2014/01/30/bootstrap-3-1-0-released/
Used the ASP.NET MVC 3 project template to create my site, then installed the Twitter.Bootstrap.MVC package which upgraded the site to ASP.NET MVC 4 (probably an issue in itself...). When I attempted to build, the BootstrapBundleConfig failed to build because the project didn't have a reference to System.Web.Optimization.
Since the Bootstrap package includes bundling, it should also include a dependency on the Microsoft.AspNet.Web.Optimization package.

Hello, could you please update the Twitter.Bootstrap.Less package to Bootstrap 3.3.5 (released on June 15)? If not yet, any idea on a timeframe? Thanks!!!
Hi
Is there a sample project. I just installed the nuget package, I never used bootstrap but saw this in nuget.
I was hoping that it would create a sample view or something that I could see how it is being used. I am not sure if I should be just following the tutorials on the bootstrap stie.
