config_files's Issues

bug with scripts - handling emacs directory

Other than the names (should be get* and set*), the set script does not handle the copying of the .emacs.d directory well. It should make a copy (not move it), and then rename it. Otherwise we'd be creating a copy of .emacs.d inside the emacs.d directory - which is obviously wring. Fix code:

$ cp -r ../emacs.d ~/
$ mv ~/emacs.d ~/.emacs.d

update_bashaliases

The update_bashaliases function in the set script should NOT add to existing .bash_aliases file. Instead it should replace it entirely. This is to avoid repetition of aliases.

if [ -f ~/.bash_aliases ]; then
rm ~/.bash_aliases
fi
cp ../bash_aliases ~/.bash_aliases
