Can you upgrade the igbvf driver to version 2.3.9.6

Hello, the existing version 2.0.2 of ds918p_42218 the network card will continue to be offline and then online.

The latest driver version of igbvf provided by Intel is 2.3.9.6

I hope that upgrading the driver can solve this problem.

The log is as follows:

i350AM2 could not load igb driver

Hi,I compiled apollolake-7.0.1-42218 img with tossp's redpill-tool-chain and add driver igb.After compiling, start the PVE virtual machine and find that the network card cannot be found. After checking the dmesg information, the following error message is found。

DiskStation> dmesg |grep igb
[ 6.756115] igb 0000:00:10.0: The NVM Checksum Is Not Valid
[ 6.784709] igb: probe of 0000:00:10.0 failed with error -5
[ 6.785793] igb: probe of 0001:02:00.0 failed with error -5
[ 6.786901] igb: probe of 0001:03:00.0 failed with error -5

Search through Google, I found that it can be solved by commenting out the code and recompiling.

/* make sure the NVM is good */
/if (e1000_validate_nvm_checksum(hw) < 0) {
dev_err(pci_dev_to_dev(pdev), "The NVM Checksum Is Not"
" Valid\n");
err = -EIO;
goto err_eeprom;
}
/

How to recompile in this case? thanks

Checksum mismatch

First of all, thank you for your great work. Thanks to your ramdisk images I could boot redpill in my gen7 microserver (can't install, stuck at recovery loop, baby steps I guess)

I'm trying to use your tg3 modules, but I can't get to work:

[!] Checksum mismatch - expected 58ac47ce41eb1e813120e4f3f323229018d91d15f75d29c1750c74dc9df2e236 but computed 8947f9c55c4aeb45fca61492f64dac29a72c21ce9b845a90fd357c46c79399e1

I edited the files directly to jump this step but doesn't work either

r8125b install success, but then reboot can't get the ip

Hi,

Thanks for your all work for rp drivers.
my HW config

MB: MSI H510i pro wifi with rtl8125b
CPU: i3-10105

I compiled apollolake-7.0.0-41890 img with lastest r8125 , acpid and early-telent

I can success install the 41890 on by PC by 8125B 2.5G , but after successful install, the machine can't auto reboot.
Then I force power down and then power up, I found that I can't get the IP. I can do nothing for the NAS.

But once when I formatting the SATA on other PC, I can find the PC can install the NAS again.

SO it seems once I install the NAS success, then I can;t get the IP.
But I can get the IP during the install stage.

r8169 not working

Tried several times, just could not bring this r8159 on board network controller online, when connected the port green light is on, but amber light not flashing. Any suggestions? Thanks

mpt2sas not working now but it did before

TL;DR mpt2sas doesn't work for me and before it did. I have only removed vmxnet3 extension.

Weeks ago I got DSM 7 up and running with the mpt2sas and vmxnet3 extension. A few days ago I upgraded from esxi to proxmox and was trying to change the network card from vmxnet3 to virtio to take advantage of gigabit speed.
With my previous configuration I have removed the vmxnet3 extension and added the virtio extension. I haven't been able to get DSM to boot, getting kernel panics on a few occasions. After many tests, it seems that there is "something" that has changed in the mpt2sas extension that generating an image now causes the DSM to fail me.

Thanks for the help and the hard work!

Donations?

Are you taking donations?

I’d love to buy the devs a few beers.

I’m also low-key trying to bribe someone to compile my network extension lol

But seriously, setup some sort of donation method regardless. This project is a ton of work!!

r8125,ixgbe not work

Hi,
Thanks for your all work for rp drivers.

my HW config is:

MB: msi b560M with rtl8125b
CPU: i5-10400
Nic: intel x520 82599

I compiled apollolake-7.0.1-42218 img with tossp's redpill-tool-chain at yesterday, and add driver r8125 and ixgbe follow tool-chain step.
I can't find IP neither with r8125 or with ixgbe, and I can see the grub interface. Is there any problem with the img I compiled or the driver is not compatible?

ixgbe.ko was too big to do

adding mpt2sas/mpt3sas to apollolake-7.0.1-42218 stops vmxnet3 and VMware virtual disks from working

I have got an working image with vmxnet3 running on my esxi server, if I add mpt2sas/mpt3sas driver to this image I'm not able to reach the virtual machine anymore. This can be fixed by changing the network adapter back to E1000e so there seems to be an issue with the vmxnet3 module when i load mpt2sas.

In addition there is some problem with vmware virtual disks after adding mpt2sas :
Although DSM is already installed on the virtual drives that installation isn't found and the web assistant prompts for installation of DSM, if I follow this along, after uploading the .pat file the web assistant says its going to reboot. After this reboot the web page brings me back to the installation prompt. I also noticed that the normal "Data on Disks 1,2 are going to be deleted" warning in the installation routine is missing.

I've attached the serial log of booting an image with vmxnet3 & mpt2sas, installing DSM and letting it reboot till i get the install prompt again.

If you need any more information please let me know.

I use ASRock J3455B-ITX with Realtek RTL8111GR.
It works fine on 918+, but no ip on 3615xs.
Is that a driver issue? How can I find a RTL8111GR driver on 3615?
Thank you!

add 9net_virtio to v9fs rp-ext

arHello,

Please add 9net_virtio modul to v9fs rp-ext.

For

mount -t 9p -o trans=virtio Share /share

I get an error:

9pnet: Could not find request transport: virtio
mount: /share: bad option; for several filesystems (e.g. nfs, cifs) you might need a /sbin/mount. helper program

I using Proxmoy 7.1 with this args:

args: -fsdev local,security_model=passthrough,id=fsdev0,path=/mnt/Share_Fs -device virtio-9p-pci,id=fs0,fsdev=fsdev0,mount_tag=Share

So long...

r8152 cannot boot normally in USB mode

  1. Build ds3615xs_42218.json with r8125 with only r8125.ko, everything is fine. Loader can boot from USB and install system.
  2. Build ds3615xs_42218.json with r8152 with usbcore.ko, usbnet.ko,mii.ko and r8152.ko, then the loader boot from USB mode failed, cannot find IP anymore.

Maybe there is conflict between loader's USB mode and this package.
I tried to fork and remove other files, only use r8152.ko, still same problem.

r8152 build failed for ds3615xs_41222.json and ds3615xs_42218.json

Other configurations are fine, DS918+ has no problem and so does ds3615xs_25556.json.
I guess the https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/rp-ext/master/r8152/releases/r8152-3.10.108.tgz only has 2 files, not include usbcore.ko.

But Json file needs 3 files.
"kmods": {
"usbcore.ko": "",
"mii.ko": "",
"r8152.ko":""
},

So may be need to pack usbcore.ko into r8152-3.10.108.tgz

BTW: I'm curious that why ds3615xs_25556.json only need one file: r8152.ko, is it a bug too?
