Issue using gem

I installed r and then the gem and when I require fselector``, I get the following error as shown in this gist.

I have the same error using Arch Linux and Ubuntu, I also was using Ruby 1.9.3.

Is this a bug, or something wrong/missing on my system?

I just installed fselector-1.4.0 on a Debian OS and ruby 2.5.5p157. When I want to run the sample program on the project's wiki page, I get the following error, any help would be appreciated:
