@bluelightzero I'm experiencing the same error when I include nannou as a dependency per this example: https://www.guide.nannou.cc/getting_started/create_a_project.html

I'm using version nannou ver 0.18.1 from master in which nannou/Cargo.toml indicates winit "0.26".

However as mentioned before, adding nannonu as a dependency in a new project will generate a Cargo.lock file with:
[[package]] name = "winit" version = "0.25.0"

Any advice is much appreciated. I hope to get more familiar with this project and start contributing eventually.

from nannou.

Unfortunately, I've been experiencing the same issue. However, a way around it I have found is by forcing rendering through XWayland by launching with the command:

$ env -u WAYLAND_DISPLAY cargo r -r

from nannou.

Another Workaround is to specify nannou by the github link.

[dependencies]
nannou = { git = "https://github.com/nannou-org/nannou" }

from nannou.
