Developing Locally

script/server

Running script/server will run jekyll serve && compass --watch commands via terminal. You will be able to open http://localhost:4000 and make changes to any of the, md, .html or .scss files and compass will compile them for you. Simply refresh your browser (or use something like livereload) and develop away. Most of the colors and sizing is found in the _variables.scss file.

leapday's Issues

screwed background image

I noticed multiple times that the background image, either from the header, either from the "body", get "screwed"; it displays random rubish, see enclosed screenshots.

Which License to use: MIT or CC-BY 3.0?

Both your Leap Day and Midnight themes have an MIT LICENSE file and a CC-BY 3.0 license declaration in the README.md file. The GitHub top bar show an MIT License.

Is it a dual license?

I'm about to publish a derivative work from these themes, and I need to know under which license to release it. Which one should I use?

Thanks

links to section headers

I can't use links to section headers in the page. The effect is to move the header at position on the top of the window. That is below the header banner.

How can I make a link that would work like the links on the sidebar menu ?

page title/subtitle is not well centered

The title, and the subtitle, are not well centered on the page.

It's relatively easy to notice as the title is not centered on the section pages.
(although the section pages are centered on the window)

I see it even more on my page, because I replicated the title (grayed out) at the bottom of each section, so when the bottom of a section is near the top, we see very well that both are not aligned.

Any idea how to make them well centered?

Chrome on Android doesn't scroll right

The "View on GitHub" floats all over when you scroll (goes up when scrolling down, and vice versa):
GhPagesBUG
But that seems to be the only object with a problem. The "Download Zip" and "Download Tar" don't go anywhere.

potential CSS additions

Hi,

I just set up a github page with your template. I really like it. Thank you!

I made a few additions to the CSS, which you might be interested in:

  • looking like a terminal for commands
    • it adds a prompt on command lines
    • you can print comments, but they won't be selected (by the mouse)
so you can copy only the commands
you can strongly highlight par of the command
    • I only used terminal but
to make it generic one would need a
  • for inline code, I used the page background color. I feel that it fits better in the theme. I also removed the right/left margin, it was awkward to have a whitespace just before a dot or a period.
  • highlight the current heading in the side menu, I used the same color as the header (which is red on my page). It would be nice if actually it would follow the page scrolling. I saw this on some websites but I am not able to do it.
  • some more
  • In the HTML I also added a over the whole top page banner. This is common on websites that the logo/banner direct to the top of the (main) page.

Feel free to take what you feel interesting.

Content section Alignment

Hey Matt,
You have created an amazing theme, kudos. I am using it to host my projects but the content section is a bit messed up after I added a project recently. It's over-writing over the text which is already present. Can you help me with the formatting? Attached below is an image
