I would think that XTRAWRDSPDITS is the same as what we think of as Farnsworth. Actual speed should be the character speed and the Farnsworth speed adds extra space between characters and words.

From Mike:
If you select Shuffle and subsequently change the lesson, Shuffle remains selected. When you subsequently deselect Shuffle, the trainer reverts back to the originally shuffled lesson.

(1) Please ask Randy to have Shuffle automatically deselected every time a lesson is changed, or Regenerate Drill is selected.

The voice delay time seems to be a little longer than the set time. I used Audacity and measured about 2.5 seconds when it was set for 2 seconds.

These characters would be put into the random groups randomly and not as groups of each one. EX. r/a a,e etc not /// ,,, ??? etc.

Functionality we would like to see in the New Player.

G4FON:

1. General Settings

   • Effective Speed should be set to "Each character" always
   • Would like to be able to set the Session Length in Minutes from 1 to 15
   • Need to be able to select a starting delay in seconds

2. Main Screen Settings

   • Show a session Time
   • Be able to select the pitch
   • Be able to select the Actual Speed from 1 to 50
   • Be able to select the Effective Speed from 1 to 50 in increments of 1
   • Will need Start/Play and Stop buttons

3. Other

   • It would be nice to have tabs to go directly to some Word, Phrases, and QSO files based on the letters selected and have them play in random order.

CW_Player

1. Under Random
   • We would like to be able to have a list of files associated with each session similar to the way these are presented but just show those files for each session (A-F).
   • Be able to type in whatever letters we want at the top and have them play randomly
   • This would probably be associated with the group function but we would like to be able to play just one letter repeatedly.

Other Functionality

1. Select a file and run it at a selected speed for a selected time.

2. Type in a number of random characters and be able to change the speed manually from the top speed (no Farnsworth) to 5 wpm on the go.

3. Select random letters and play for selected time. Need to be able to select the group length (1 to 8).

4. Select a predetermined set of characters (like CW_Player lessons) and run for a selected time and group length.

5. Be able to put / . , ? and prosigns into the groups of 3 and play them randomly within each group.

Comment: I like the way G4FON changes speed and farnsworth better than CW_Player. It is more straight forward and I think easier for students to understand. I also like the G4FON "session length" option better than picking the "number of characters" to play in CW_Player.

On ther other hand, picking the letters you want to use is easier in CW_Player because you just type them in versus having to check the letters in G4FON's set up folder.

With VOICE "ON", if you hit STOP while the code is playing it will stop but if you hit STOP right after the voice ends, it will rewind and start over.
If you turn VOICE "OFF", it work fine.

I get about 2 min of text even when Override is set to 1 min. It seems to add time OK but won't go down.

Not really a bug but when I was going over the program with Glenn, he said he was having trouble hearing the voice. He has some hearing issues and I assume some of our other students will to based on their age. Can you increase the volume so that the present volume corresponds to 5 and it can be made louder if needed?

It works fine as long as you don't try to clear it and then download the same file. Maybe this is how it is suppose to work but seemed strange. If you try to download the same file after clearing, it won't download it.

We really don't need a min and max on group size. Just be able to pick from 1 to 5 characters per group. Unless you need it for programming purposes.

Set PRO default to 1 sec.

Can settings that affect all lessons such as "Randomize", "Override time", "Group Size", etc be moved to the top portion?

Example: If I select 20 wpm and 5 fwpm, the code is being sent at about 5 wpm not 20 wpm character speed.

The RSS has no bearing on what the LICW Club needs are so it can be eliminated or hidden in the trainer for the club. I know you use it so do whatever meets your needs.

You can't shuffle the order of States and words.

Seems limited to have back/forward 1 and full back/forward.

What if I want to go back 13 words?

Can you please set the default input block to "hide"? I think this would be more appropriate since we don't want the students to see the characters most of the time.

Also, Have you made any significant changes in DEV from all the work you and Glenn were doing? If so, is it time to do an update to Main?

We would like to take all the "Smoothing" settings out of the Settings accordion and just make them the default. No need for us to be able to change any of them.

Per Mike:
Glenn would like States and QSO Abbreviations to voice the actual meaning instead of the letters e.g., TN would be voiced as “Tennessee.” I know we discussed this with Randy at one time, but I don’t recall the solution. I believe Randy said we would need to come up with a special character that would tell the trainer to voice differently. This is not a top priority, but I would like it in the queue.

The last card does not show up when using "Trail". It stops playing and rewinds but the characters in the last card never appear. Maybe need a short delay a the end before rewinding?

by default they should move together, unless toggled to be independent

This seems to be associated with Voice and may be connected to the problem with a file like states not being vocalized and then the next file played starts out with the vocalization of what wasn't said previously.

1. The cards show XX for single letters
2. STOP doesn't work when LOOP is active
   3)The voice is not synchronized with the cards when TRAIL is checked.

Tab names changes:
WPM change to: Character Speed (WPM)
FWPM change to: Effective Speed (FWPM)
Regenerate Drill change to: Apply

I've been working through the first session and found that you can't see the clock on a laptop screen when you are looking at the Play/Stop Group line at the bottom. Can the clock be put either to the right of the Shuffle tab or under the Custom Group tab so the instructor can see it while looking at the Play/Stop group?

Add a version number or date somewhere so we know if we have the latest version when downloading for off line use.

Would like to be able to pick a start delay after clicking on a lesson and before the lesson actually starts of 1 to 3 seconds.

Would like to see a clock that indicates how long the file/lesson has been running and resets when you start a new file.

I just tried out the ICR portion of the player for Mike and we would like the letters to shuffle each time they are played when "LOOP" is checked. Right now it plays the same sequence each time it resets. I tried checking "shuffle" but that made no difference. Can this be done?

OK... I have picky ears I get it. Not a fan of clicks and thumps in my CW training.

Absolutely LOVE the envelope shaped CW tones... No clicks. No thumps.

I can think of several other Windows based programs that fall short in this respect.

fwpm should never be more than wpm

When I play a file with a prosign with voice ON, it does not say what the prosign is or even what the letters are.

I am finding it confusing when the background color of the "Randomize", "Override Time", etc. buttons change color when you scroll over them when they are turned "off". Can they not change when you scroll over them or is this something that just happens when they get the focus? It would be nice if they didn't change until you went from on to off or off to on.

The characters go from all capitals to all lower case when switching between "randomize" on and off. (at least on Student - REA. I think we should always use capitals for clarity.

After you have picked a lesson, the LICW Lessons title then says in green: Type: Student Class ....

I think "type" is misleading as it implies you should type something here. I would suggest we change it to say "File" which implies which file is being loaded.

When you insert a file, it will work OK but if you want to make any changes and then click on "APPLY" it reverts back to the last lesson plan because it is still highlighted. Can clicking on Insert File clear the lesson plan set up?

The way WORD SPACE is used is very confusing. Mike says he only really needs word spacing of 1,2,3 and 4 times the normal spacing. Can you change this so 1 is the default with no additional word spacing and then 2,3, and 4 would correspond to twice, thrice, and 4x normal spacing?

The lock for FWPM has quit working in the DEVELOPMENT program for some reason.

There is a delay between when I select a new speed and when it actually takes place. Seems to be more than just completing the groups but maybe not.

I downloaded the player to my phone and unzipped the files. The bottom portion of the player seems to be OK but the top isn't. I can't set any of the class lessons. I'm using a Galaxy S6 and the latest version of chrome.

Can we just have it restart if we hit play instead of needing to rewind after it completes the file or we hit STOP?
