[BUG] COM and NAV volumes cannot be set with keyboard input

Current version:

  • Current mod version: V0.9.3
  • Current MSFS version: 1-11-7-0-hot-fix

Describe the bug
Trying to set a key to increase/decrease the COM or NAV volume doesn't work. When you press the increase or decrease key, it moves the knob in the sim but when you release they key then the knob returns to the last value set by the mouse clicking on the volume control in the cockpit.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behaviour:

  1. Set a key to increase/decrease COM1 volume
  2. In the cockpit, press and hold the key to increase (or decrease) the COM1 volume
  3. Watch the volume knob rotate, release the key
  4. Watch the volume knob automatically rotate back to the original set position

Expected behaviour
I expect the volume knob not to reset back when I release the key

Screenshots

Additional context
Tested in the base sim without the mod and the volume keys work as expected

MSFS not logging flights in internal system

To Reproduce
Fully shut down aircraft, logbook doesn't save entry

Expected behaviour
After Battery off, logbook should trigger?

Screenshots
If applicable, add screenshots to help explain your problem.

Additional context
Initially reported here, I actually don't know where to begin with this one, Logbook has a magnitude of MSFS Internal issues
Did it trigger using original mod?
Can we find out if we can actually resolve this through mod or is it Asobo's issue?

[FEATURE] DME

Hi !
First, a big thank you for this great work !
I'm just wondering if you could add a DME to the cockpit, so it become possible to fly most IFR approaches (appart GNSS ones), and fly IFR outside of the USA also.

Thanks again for your work.
Best regards !

Tim

Current version:

  • Current mod version: V0.9.3 BETA
  • Current MSFS version: V1.11.6.0

Describe the bug

  • Flaps 20/30 add too much drag, you shouldn’t need anything above 2000rpm to have it fly a 3° glide.

Left banking from level flight

A few of us were discussing this this MSFS_C152 mod based on DFR30q's C152X work in the MSFS forums. Several of us are seeing strong left banking from trimmed level flight. Every time I go hands off on the Honeycomb yoke the C152 banks hard to the left and won't maintain straight flight. If I revert to the C152X mod the issue is no longer present.

[BUG] Autopilot Engages?

[BUG] Mixture / Fuel Rate

Current version:

  • Current mod version: V0.8.3
  • Current MSFS version: V1.9.5.0

Describe the bug
Disclaimer: This seems to be a MSFS-wide issue!
Anyway, mixture has been reported as flawed, this is from the default aircraft.
According to reports, 91% at sea level gives you max power and fuel flow drops dramatically above this value.
Dev's to investigate in our custom C152s to see if we can emulate.

To Reproduce
Take note of FF at 100% and at 91% (Dev Mode required as C152 has no fuel flow gauge)
Hopefully we will be able to spot it

Expected behaviour
Fuel flow should build in relation to the lever position

[FEATURE] Steam gauge realistic behavior

I dont know if this can be implemented in the current state of the SDK or we need to wait for external plug-ins to make this happen.

Purpose is to make the plane more immersive by simulating some of the gauge behavior IRL, like:

Attitude Indicator wobble during start-up as the vacuum pump starts to ramp-up

Engine RPM erratic like behavior especially on low rpm and when reving-up and not like its on "rails"

[BUG] Mod not working in the latest UK update

Current version:

  • Current mod version: 0.9.5
  • Current MSFS version: 1.13.16.0

Describe the bug
After the UK update, several issues are starting to occur in the Cessna 152 mod. First of all, the radios won't come on. If you adjust the volume of NAV2, it will light up, but NAV1 just doesn't work at all. Secondly, the flight controls seem way off. The elevator and the ailerons aren't responding correctly to input, making it almost impossible to fly the plane.

To Reproduce
Load up any flight from the world map. Try starting dark and cold from a parking spot and you'll see that the radios won't come on after having completed the startup procedure.

Expected behaviour
The mod used to work perfectly prior to the UK update. I expected the same behavior after having installed the update.

Simulation starts with Parking Brake Off

Current version:

  • Current mod version: V0.9.7
  • Current MSFS version: V1.13.17.0

Simulation starts with Parking Brake off and plane immediately starts takeoff roll. Not able to perform checklist.
If the parking brake is quickly applied it does not hold the plane in place.

To Reproduce

  1. Choose a airport and press FLY (not choose a gate).

Expected behavior
Optimal would be - starts at runway end with engine running at idle and parking brake on.

[BUG] Livery Mod incompatibility

Current version:

  • Current mod version: V0.8.3
  • Current MSFS version: 1.9.5.0

Describe the bug
Some livery Addons are appearing to be incompatible with this mod!
Here is an example reported from Flightsim.to

C152 Livery Mod

[BUG] Idle RPM/Taxiing Engine Parameters

Current version:

  • Current mod version: V0.9.2
  • Current MSFS version: V1.11.6.0

Describe the bug
• With 1000rpm on the ground, it taxies like a rocket. From what I remember, you actually need more than 1000rpm to get it to move, a few more 100s and then you reduce back to 1000ish rpm and it taxies nicely by itself.

• Idle RPM is quite high, it used to be around 500/600rpm on the c152 I flew back in the days. (it might explain the taxi speed as said above)

To Reproduce
...

Expected behaviour
More realistic engine parameters

[BUG] COM Freq Issue

Current version:

  • Current mod version: V0.9.0
  • Current MSFS version: V1.10.2.0

Describe the bug
According to forum report, after around 30 Mins - pressing swap doesn't switch the Live Freq. to Standby but standby does move, so they end up the same!
Can't say I've noticed this but I shall investigate in our next long flight.
My initial thoughts would be that it's a FS Bug as we don't affect how the sim saves Vars

To Reproduce
Do a flight more than 30-45 mins
Try to change Freq!

Expected behaviour
Live goes to Standby as normal..?

Feedback from real-world c152 pilot

  • this C152 takes off too easy as well..probably because it's overpowered
  • aerodynamic braking is better with this mod after landing (has never been good in MSFS as it usually wants to take off again instead of settle)
  • 1700 RPM with 10 degree flaps abeam the numbers seems right with around 75-80kts on downwind with a slight descent
  • 1500 RPM with 20 degress flaps on base seems underpowered slightly (goes to 67kts should be around 70-75kts)
  • cruise at 2300RPM seems overpowered as I get right to the yellow caution range...should sit somewhere around 93-95kts indicated....overpowered! The old C152X mod was better powered in 0.17 but again...it was modeled as extended range tank model with a powerful engine...I don't know how to explain it
  • idle should sit a little lower on RPM (hovers around 700-800RPM when no throttle) Should be more like 600-700RPM
  • panel lighting should not control night lighting...wrong light is emanating the red light...it should come from the non-existent light in front of the cabin light. The switch night lighting does not look like the real thing on the panel (it has always been this way with MSFS as well as the default aircraft). It would be great to be able to have the "panel" light be the dome light and the rotating light switch be realistically modeled on the panel and controlled solely from the rotating light switch instead of turned on with the dome light toggle switch

Just my two cents from training and flying the C152 as a student and private pilot for almost 5 years

[BUG] Right Rudder input during Cruise

Current version:

  • Current mod version: V0.9.2 & 0.9.3 BETA
  • Current MSFS version: V1.11.6.0

Describe the bug
Right rudder is required to fly straight during a cruise (countering excess force values for the prop rotation)

[BUG] Stall Behaviour

Current version:

  • Current mod version: V0.9.2
  • Current MSFS version: V1.11.6.0

Describe the bug
• Stall behavior is a bit odd, the nose never really wants to drop once the airplane stalls, it just goes from flying to sinking with no nose drop or reaction from the airplane. IRL you get a sudden nose drop and then it steadies into a sinking attitude during the stall (as long as you force the stall by keeping the nose high). If you release the back pressure, it recovers easily by itself. The actual airplane is quite reluctant to go into a spin, you have to give it a little help and fly it purposefully uncoordinated or kick the rudder.
Stall behavior changes with flaps and power setting too, it's always been difficult to model stall behavior in sims, I'd say that having the aeroplane to actually drop its nose would be enough for the moment
