Nothing happens

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open Pixus

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Anything! The app opens, and there's nothing. No on screen elements. Nothing
useful in the
menus either:
Pixus: About Pixus, Hide Pixus, Hide Others, Show All, Quit Pixus
File: Close (grayed out)
Edit: Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete, Select All (all grayed out), Special Characters
Window: Minimize, Zoom, Bring All To Front (all grayed out)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Pixus 1.0 r69 tested on both Intel and G4 Mac 10.5.6.

Please provide any additional information below.
The installation did not ask me for a system password, unlike all the previous
AIR apps I've
installed.

Apply a preset (size) from Preferences window

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. In Preferences | Presets view, people can only edit the presets.
2. Only from the SysTray / Dock menu, people can apply a preset.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
To be intuitive, people should be able to apply a preset right from the
Preset view, just like the Skin view does.

Feature request for pixus, proportion grids.

Feature request.

As a functional interface developer and visual artist I work a lot with
proportions to get things in position.

Just an idea, to add some grid defaults with some prefined grid divisions
(eg. golden sections,...) that divides your pixus screen.

For example (only for pc)
http://www.atrise.com/golden-section/

Pixus is a great tool!

Greetings,
Koen Caerels

Application stage

Instead of launching Pixus from the default stage/canvas, you should spawn
it in a new native window so it has no boundaries. This will also
eliminate the need for you to maximize the stage the size of the screen,
thus lowering memory consumption and keeping the application stable over
time. It will also eliminate the workaround you implemented for multiple
monitors. You can always open with a splash type screen, then hide it a
spawn Pixus in a new window.

Toggle for shadow effect inside ruler area

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Doing an area screen capture on the Mac OS (cmd + shift + 4) to save the
area within the ruler is a potentially handy workaround for the lack of a
built-in screen cap function, but there's a fatal flaw: since Pixus
generates a narrow shadow on the right and bottom edges of the ruled area,
the resulting screen cap image looks as if it has had a bevel effect
applied. This limits the applicability of Pixus.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Having an option to toggle the shadow effect (ideally only for the inside
area) would do the trick.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Mac OS 10.5.8. Pixus 1.1.

Please provide any additional information below.
Excellent app-- keep up the good work!

Multi-source Auto-update

With the help of AIR update framework in AIR 1.5, I would definitely add
auto-update to the very next version, Pixus 1.0.0. So, keep updated and
improved.

Windows shall not be physically closed

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open any of the following windows, Ruler / Preferences / Update
2. Press Alt-F4 to close the window (NativeWindow)
3. The window cannot be reopened

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Should be reopened when needed.

The solution is to cancel the Event.CLOSING event, prevent physically
closing a NativeWindow and hide it instead.

Accidentally dragged off-screen, can't get it back! Tried re-installing, but didn't help.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Overload your memory and move the mouse while it's chugging so it has to
run to catch up.
2. After over-compensating, it is possible for your mouse to end up off the
screen, as a result dragging the pixus frame off the screen.
3. Accidentally release your hold OFF screen, and the thing is gone.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Well, I'd hoped for some way to reset it. Tried changing the pixus size,
screen size/resolution, and even re-installing... it still won't show up in
a visible place. Bummer. Is there file I can delete or a line in some
settings to clear the pixus position memory?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

The latest version, Window's Vista Home Premium.

Please provide any additional information below.

Shift-Drag locking aspect

Proportional scaling of window area. This would be great for scaling
images and/or figuring out the new width or height in px or percent. For
example, you could set the frame to the current image size, proportionally
scale the frame to the new width and you would autmatically get the new
height values.

Mesures displayed are 1 pixel larger than mesured rectangle

1. Draw a 100x100 rectangle in Photoshop (or display any image with known
dimensions)
2. Fit Pixus on this rectangle
3. Pixus says 101x101

Or maybe the top and left borders of Pixus should be placed over the first
pixel of the mesured area (and not the right and bottom borders) ?

Can't drag to top of screen.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Launch Pixus
2. Drag as high as it'll go

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect to be able to drag it to the top of the screen. It gets stuck and
won't go above a certain point, looks like around 100 pixels from the top.

If you turn on the dim/shadow mode, it goes all the way to the top.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

OSX 10.5
