This is probably due to problems with hash/equality with different colour types.

There's some ugly code like the following in tests and __main__.py:

bold = _tag("\033[1m", "\033[22m")

This can be reused. Name? I like che.

This requires implicitly initializing colors as they are required. Not hard at all.

See a prototype of the code required in the current iteration of getcuia/cuia.

This can be done once stransi parses it. Even though curses has no support for it, it can easily be done with Unicode.

When using zephyrproject-rtos/windows-curses, the following error message is returned when attempting to instantiate Cusser with stdscr = Cusser(stdscr):

Exception has occurred: error
init_pair() returned ERR

I believe this is a result of zephyrproject-rtos/windows-curses#10 which says:

Trying to call curses.init_pair(0, curses.COLOR_RED, curses.COLOR_BLACK) raises an exception
