arduino's Issues

Missing terminating character

I am sure this is a simple fix but not being a programmer - not so easy for me.

I am compiling the code, renamed it in the title and now getting missing terminating character on this line.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Brightness problem with DMX_WS2812_Fixture_Demo.ino

Dear GadgetReboot,

I am a new user in the ARDUINO topic.
I have done the whole project (below) and it works fine:
Arduino/Uno/DMX_Serial_Tx_Rx/WS2812B_60_Test/DMX_WS2812_Fixture_Demo.ino

This is the project that I have searched for.
WS2812B ledstrip controled with an arduino nano 328p over the DMX protocol.
But I have a little problem with master brightness of the ledstrip.
When I send a 255 (max.) DMX signal (from PC QLC+) to each RGB pixel then the WS2812B ledstrip doesn't work with maximum brightness.

I have compared the currents:

  • about 10mA/pixel << with DMX_WS2812_Fixture_Demo.ino
  • about 34mA/pixel << with FASTLED library / RGBCalibrate.ino

Could you help me with this topic?
Where do I have to modify the sketch in order to have maximum brightness of the ledsstrip?

Thank you very much for your answer
Csaba

Generic instructions for longer setups?

Thanks so much for your tutorials.

Let's say I want to run 10 strips, 300 LEDs each, so 3000 LEDs.

  • Do I still use a 1000uf capacitor?
  • Do I still use a 220R resistor?
  • It's it correct to put one power supply per strip in parallel?

   | | | | | | | | | |
   +1kuf+ +1kuf+ +1kuf+ +1kuf+ +1kuf+
   | | | | | | | | | |

      +----------+ +----------+ +----------+ +----------+ +----------+

All the strips are connected in parallel and there's a separate 5V power supply per strip.

Does it matter what the power supply is? For example I tried powering 1 strip on a USB recharger battery. The battery is only rated 3A and a single strip can apparently use 18A but it ran for 15hrs and was bright enough with at least 1/3 of the LEDs on at all times.
