Ave Maria!

The author is deceased. His ideal was "freely you have received, freely
give." He never put the code under a formal license. Active development
takes place at http://code.google.com/p/divinum-officium/ That
repository does have a specific license.

Hi, do you know the terms of use? (Or are you allowed to specify these
on your own?)

Maybe I would like to fork this repo and make a version supporting
just one historical version (that of 1962), but several particular
calendars (eventually with the possibility of creating and submiting
custom ones). But I don't want to base my work on a codebase with
unclear legal status...

Thank you. I think I will fork the active development branch then. Because I share the ideal "freely you have received, freely give" as well, but I think in the world of software the best way to realize it is to "put the code under a formal license" - under some free one. They put it under GPL, which is just fine.
