applyingml's Introduction

πŸ‘‹ Hi, I'm Eugene Yan

I design, build, and operate machine learning systems that serve customers at scale. Currently, I'm a Senior Applied Scientist at Amazon helping users read more, and get more out of reading. Outside of work, I also...

  • Write, speak, and prototype on ideas in machine learning, RecSys, and LLMs.
  • Curate papers, guides, and interviews on applying machine learning effectively.
  • Host monthly ML meetups and a weekly LLM reading group with practitioners.
  • Send a newsletter about data, ML, and what I'm learning to 6,300+ subscribers.
  • In 2024 I'm learning: Synthetic data, application evals, and scaling ML teams.
  • Fun fact: I don't use the QWERTY keyboard (I use Dvorak instead).

applyingml's Issues

Show all responses to a question, across mentors, on a single page

Context:

  • Currently, responses to interview questions are sorted by mentors.
  • There is no way to view all responses (from all mentors) to a single question.

Intent:

  • As a reader, I would like to view all responses to the same question across all mentors.
  • This will provide an easier way to compare how applying ML differs across various practitioners.

Deliverable:

  • When clicking on a question, I should be directed to a page with all responses to the question.
  • Alternatively, provide a question index page with the list of questions; clicking on a question directs me to all responses.

Constraints:

  • No/minimal manual work (e.g., copying all responses to their own question .mdx file).

Update URL https://github.com/eugeneyan/applied-ml/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md since default branch was renamed `master` β†’ `main`

https://github.com/eugeneyan/applied-ml/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md redirects to
https://github.com/eugeneyan/applied-ml/blob/main/CONTRIBUTING.md so in the following file, the /master/ part of the URL should be updated to /main/ since the branch was renamed:
