Standalone Home Assistant integration using the Fronius Solar.web API. It is intended for use when your Fronius is on a different network to HA, otherwise you are best to use the built-in integration which will have more sensors and a faster refresh rate.

Installation

HACS

HACS is recommended as it provides automated install and will notify you when updates are available.

This assumes you have HACS installed and know how to use it. If you need help with this, go to the HACS project documentation.

Add custom repository in HACS

  1. Click on HACS in your menu to open the HACS panel, then click on integrations (https://your.domain/hacs/integrations).
  2. Click on the 3 dots in the top right corner.
  3. Select "Custom repositories"
  4. Add the URL to the repository: https://github.com/drc38/Fronius_solarweb
  5. Select the integration category.
  6. Click the "ADD" button.

Once done, you should see the new repository, appearing in a list like this. Click the Download button

Manual Installation

  1. Using the tool of choice open the directory (folder) for your HA configuration (where you find configuration.yaml).
  2. If you do not have a custom_components directory (folder) there, you need to create it.
  3. In the custom_components directory (folder) create a new folder called solarweb.
  4. Download all the files from the custom_components/solarweb/ directory (folder) in this repository.
  5. Place the files you downloaded in the new directory (folder) you created.
  6. Restart Home Assistant
  7. In the HA UI go to "Integrations" click "+" and search for "solarweb"

Configuration

Configuration of the integration is done within the Integrations Panel in Home Assistant.

  1. Navigate to Integrations
  2. Click Add Integration
  3. Search for Fronius Solar.Web
  4. Enter your PV System ID and API details from your Solar.Web account

If you have an issue ensure the api is working at official test site

fronius_solarweb's Issues

Error on adding integration

When trying to add an integration, the process takes a very long time and finally ends with an error: Failed to load configuration interface: Unknown error

Version of the custom_component

0.2.1

API Interval smaller than 10 min?

I have integrated Fronius_solarweb in my HA, looks like it refreshes only every 10 minutes, I could of course restart the integration using an automation if I wanted to have the numbers updated more frequently, but I was wondering if it is possible to set the interval shorter, like every 30 secs?
Any ideas?

Thanks

Dumb question, really.... how do i change IP ?

I apologize if question is particularly dumb but i'm going crazy here. I rearranged my wifi network a little (vlans etc) and i changed IP on the inverter. How do I change the IP in configuration for this integration ? I can't find it in configuration.yaml file, nothing in custom components, nothing on GUI in settings/integrations..... what am I missing ? :(

Advantages over built-in Fronius integration?

Hi, I saw this integration pop up as a new integration available in my HACS store and I was wondering what the advantages are of this versus the built-in Fronius integration that I have been using up untill now.

Do you have more sensors available or quicker updates or ...?

Best regards

Where can I find accessKeyID and accessKeyValue?

Thank you very much for the great work.

I am wondering where I can find the two keys/values for accessing the API? My Fronius Solar.web webpage doesnt have an option to create such keys.
Thank you.

Combine with built in integration

I currently use the built in Fronius integration and it works well.
Occasionally though there may be an issue with something in the chain and my HA data is lost.
Examples are, Fronius data logger loses connection, Home assistant is off for a while etc.

Because the inverter stores data, when connection is restored Solar.web catches up this missing data.

A great feature IMHO, would be to combine the two. The Fronius integration for fast updating and local operation, and your integration for filling in missing data from solar.web.

Would it be possible to have you plug-in check for existing data and only add solar.web if missing?

Perhaps it already does, as I have not yet tried both integrations together and your documentation implies to run one or the other only?
