worldmuncher's Issues

Linux fails to check for new version

When I start WorldMuncher, a box appears with the New World and Open World buttons (neither of which work), along with the text "Checking for New Version..."

I can exit that prompt, at which point I get a lovely window where none of the buttons work.

Presumably, this is dues to the program not being able to check for a new version. This might be due to a bug in the Linux version (it works fine on Windows), or an inability to check for new versions.

Does this need "Events"?

Just thinking out loud here. I went through the code and didn't understand a single point where I could just add 'events' as a category. But I'm wondering if Events are a thing that WorldMuncher would benefit from.

Updates

Hey I just wanted to say this is the best world building tool I have come across. It's simple enough for anyone to understand and that removes any dsitraction or learning curve. I've not come across any other tools that do all the things this software has the potential to do. Which begs the question, why has there been no progress?

Truly this is a piece of software that can compete with any of the top wiki or world building tools if it's given the time. I believe it has the potential to be better than anything that exists right now. So what happened?

Add Custom Icons

Something for any future works on this thing, a way to place a custom icon instead of the usual person icon, planet icon, and puzzle piece icon for better organization.

Needs an "add categories" button

The four categories right now are rather broad. While this is fine, it also makes searching for certain things a pain without constant re-evaluation. The ability to add new categories to fit a person's world or add on new information to an entry would be a much-appreciated addition.
