RtWlanU.kext causes a bug with Display scales.

I'm using r5 3600 OC rx580 Bigsur 11.0.1

After I install this pkg, when I change display scales pc lagging so bad. Reverting back doesnt help, CPU levels doesnt effected still over 80% free but its not usable.

I tested 3 added kexts other 2 is ok but RtWlanU.kext causes this issue. Without it my card doesnt work.

Same issue also happens with Catalina but Majove is ok

Please let me know if this is ok with your setup

Thank you!

after update stopped working

I just did an upgrade big sur to 11.4 and was not able to see that adapter is attached, I uninstalled and reinstalled by disabling SIP, but no success.

Possible to re-enable SIP after installation on Big Sur?

I'm trying to install this on macOS Big Sur. When I was installing HoRNDIS (which had a similar issue) it was possible to disable SIP, install the extensions, and then re-enable it again (jwise/HoRNDIS#132).

Everything works fine with the v7 release of the Wireless USB adapters until I re-enable SIP, at which point I just see "no USB-WiFi plugin" and no green lights on the adapter. I tried running

kextstat | grep -v com.apple

and when SIP was disabled I get:

 135 0 0xffffff7fa2456000 0x2a3000 0x2a3000 com.realtek.driver.RtWlanU (1830.32.b20) A3E82AA7-B282-3667-BAAE-D23A304794F9 <66 46 6 5 3 1>

but it disappears when SIP has been enabled again. If I go and disable SIP again, it still doesn't work - I have to go through the installation process again.

Has anyone managed to achieve this? @chris1111 I see you suggest in #20 that you should be able to? Thanks

Wifi indicator blacked out

Hello, everything installed perfectly when I followed the instructions. Installed on a Macbook Pro (2017) running Big Sur. However, the Wifi indicator for the Archer T2U device is blacked out instead of white so I cannot tell when I am actually connected or not.

Kext files need to be rebuilt for Beta 5

When trying to load the kext file RtWlanDisk.kext, the error it spews out is:

I'm guessing it's because it needs to be re-built for beta 5, going off of the change logs

Regarding SIP

Why does SIP needs to be disabled?

And can it be enabled after installing the driver?

No download speed data

Hi,
Everything works fine except that it doesn't seem to give out the download speed, whereas the upload speed works fine. Just a minor quirk, thank you for making this 😄

The SIP need to stay disable??!!

The SIP need to stay disable??!! As far as I understand it doesn't make sense to have it disable forever ...

Are you planing to change this ?

Try to make the driver recognised as internal wifi of macOS Big Sur

Try to make the driver recognised as internal wifi of macOS Big Sur so that the default wifi icon can be used to enable and connect to wifi instead of it being detected as ethernet adapter(en2) and a separate icon for wifi in the bar and the wireless utility.
Also my request is if possible add support of it as a kext that can be copied to the kext folder of the boot loader so that it can enabled even during the setup process instead of choosing this Mac doesn't connect to the network, enabling the setup of Apple ID and etc.
Hoping for a positive reply soon!

i am using a vmware image of big sur and I have a netgear dongle A6100 that I would have liked to connect and use directly from the vm.
Installing the pkg I have an error. Enclosed the installation log.
Not sure this setup (big sur vm image running on vmware workstation on host win10) is supported though...

(Solve) unable to install the driver on Big Sur version 11.1

I've downloaded the adapter-V-7 pkg, trying to install that onto my MacBook Pro running Big Sur version 11.1, the installation failed with message The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.

I have a Linksys WUSB6400M adapter.

NO USB Wifi Device Plugged in

Followed all instructions for gatekeeper and SIP to a tee. The device is detected in system information but the menu bar shows no USB wifi detected. On beta 20A4300b. Know it's not the USB wifi as works fine under windows and worked under Catalina.

**Note at first the prompt for extension showed up, allowed it. After uninstall and reinstall it no longer appears. -- in both cases no USB found. My csrutil status is disabled (apple internal)

Any suggestions? The USB is supported and is realtek (exact model not known but worked under catalina) something AC1200M
Tried both USB 3 and USB 2. Note* No options were added to network preferences. Tried reset them no luck

making source code available

Hi,
Thank you for this great project.
Can you provide the source code?
I mean, putting the entire Xcode project on Github (obviously except for credentials, etc), so that anybody can edit and build their own version. This way other developers my help adding features or fixing bugs.

Is it possible to add RT2870?

Hi!

I've been searching all the internet to find a way to make my AWUS036NH work with my original mac os Big Sur, but all my searches end here which if I am not mistaken it is not the right place. Is it possible to add to this package the drivers I need?

Thanks!

Ralink 3070 - Mac Big Sur Issue or chip not supported

Hi Chris, first of all thank you very much for your hard work on this.

The card is an Alpha Network - Model: AWUS036NH

Maybe is not an issue, just a chip (Ralink 3070) not supported, but tried to use your tool with no luck, do you know if you can add support to this chip, in case it's not supported ?

Thanks in advance!

Best!

Asus USB-AC51 support

Hello
I'm using OpenCore 0.6.3, macOS 11.0.1, SecureBoot and SIP are disabled, gatekeeper allows to run software from any developer but my USB-AC51 adapter doesn't work. I have seen that oldest adapter model that your driver supports is ASUS USB-AC53. My adapter AC51 supports 802.11ac standard and can I somehow make this adapter to work or there is no drivers to boot this ?

Archer T3U Plus supported on macOS Big Sur?

I was about to purchase T3U Plus which is supported on Catalina, but on Big Sur it is not listed under known working and testing adapter. I'll be using it on hackintosh build, so I was wondering would it be supported? Please let me know.

BT Wi-Fi Authentication Page is not showing

Hi,

First of all I would like to say thank you for doing great job on making Wi-Fi adapters to work on Big Sur.

I am having issue when connecting to BT Wi-Fi hotspot. When connected I should see the authentication webpage. The problem is that the page is not showing when connected using the TP-Link Archer T9UH v2. I tried connecting to authentication page (captive.apple.com and www.btwifi.co.uk:8443) manually but the pages are not loading when using the TP-Link adapter.

Any ideas please?

Not working with Big Sur 11.0.1

I have installed and reinstalled package on MacOS Big Sur 11.0.1, disbaled SIP, allowed the realtek semiconductor, still does not work. Am I just missing something

USB Wifi not recognized/connected following successful installation (Mac OS X 11.1, Big Sur) - TP-Link Archer T3U/Plus

Hi,

I bought a TP-Link Archer T3U/Plus to be installed on my Mac running Big Sur (Mac OS X 11). Even after disabling Gatekeeper and following the steps outlined in the video to install the software, the installation routine just fails at the end of the installation process with "Installation failed". Any idea on may be causing this and how to troubleshoot it?

Many thanks.

Kind regards
Sebastian

Issue with using Adapter

I have a MacBook Pro 13in.- 2017 with 4 thunderbolt (or USB-C) ports. I have to use a USB-C to USB-A adapter from apple to use any USB device... and I can see it under System Information>USB as being recognized, but so far I cannot get the adapter to work. wondering if this is because of the USB-C to USB-A adapter.

I have these two adapters:

-Archer T2U Plus
-Archer T3U
BOTH by TP-Link
