Hallo,
ad this parameters to the start script then works this driver with bond configuration too.
Thanks....

Hello,
first of all: Thank you!
Is Support for Realtek RTD1296 SoC e.g. used in the DS218 and DS220j possible?
I had to up the USB nic with "sudo ifconfig eth4 up" and then set to DHCP in the Synology GUI portal.
I have noticed that DSM tries to use this interface as it's the primary interface. It is not the first interface it routes with but it is the primary interface it wants to use for applications within DSM. This interface is connecting to a computer as a management point to point and is not being used for network ingress. I attempted to set up the Active Directory application and even Active Directory tries to use this interface for the domains NS. While I have experienced one kernel panic, I believe this is an issue with how DSM allocates adapters and not with the driver. I do not have knowledge about Synology packages so I'm not sure if there's a way in the spk to prevent the adapter from being used as the default.

DS415+ (avoton) confirmed working ok with Club 3D CAC-1420
DSM version: 6.2.3
Driver version: r8152-avoton-2.12.0-3.spk
Switch: QNAP QSW-1105-5T
One issue I noticed when using USB network adapter is that IPv6 address is assigned even though the option is set to OFF in DSM.
I have not tested MTU changes.
Using rear USB port (front 3.0 is not present on this model).
Test equipment: DS218 +(DSM 6.2.3 25426), Ugreen USB A to 2.5G (RTL8156), ASUS AX86U
When the network cable is inserted into the 2.5G LAN port of the router, the 2.5G network can be recognized, but it can not work normally.
Unable to Ping, unable to access NAS
When the network cable is inserted into the 1g LAN port of the router, the 1g network can be identified and the NAS can be accessed normally.
If you want to have on this version the drivers:

DS1819+, USB lan device lost after reboot, but can be restored by manually stop and start the RTL driver package in package center.

Asustor AS-U2.5G dongle
attached dmesg.
dmesg.txt
The symptom is that when the NAS boots up, the eth4 (USB lan) is not found by command ifconfig -a.
but after manually stop and start the RTL driver package in package center, the eth4 show up and the additional lan can be found on control panel.
In the dmesg, I tried to restart the package @ 2xx sec.
synoservice --restart pkgctl-r8152 also make the usb lan works.
Seems to work just fine on an RS1219+ unit.
Will the driver work for the new nas DS920+ ?
I would like to use an ASUSTOR AS-U2.5G on a DS1815+ DSM 6.2.2
I've begun to try to compile this myself but I've not succeeded for the moment.
I tried both to cross-compile on a VM and to direct compile on the DS1815+ and got stuck, honestly my knowledge of linux is too weak and I'm not sure where to start and what to use/install.
(I'd like to see how you made it, I'm eager to learn how to do it myself.)
DS918+ (apollolake) confirmed working ok with Club 3D CAC-1420
DSM version: 6.2.3
Driver version: r8152-apollolake-2.13.0-1.spk
Switch: QNAP QSW-1105-5T
One issue I noticed when using USB network adapter is that IPv6 address is assigned even though the option is set to OFF in DSM.
I have not tested MTU changes.
Using rear USB port.
I simply renamed the line
arch= "apollolake"
with
arch="geminilake"
in the r8152-apollolake-2.13.0-1.spk file with NotePad++ and saved the file.
After Installation on the DS720+ the driver worked well and I have proper LAN connection
(see Daniels Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyU7bB7BOsc)
Working perfectly well with RTL8153 based USB card (TP-link TL-UG310)
I intended to set up a link aggregation with the onboard NIC but seems to be blocked by firmware. (create link aggregation option is missing, two LANs are detected and works perfectly fine independently)
Adapter installation worked. Read 224 GB/s, Write 175 GB/s. Read seems stable, write goes to 0 MB/s after a few minutes, then adapter was not reachable any more with ping. After reboot normal again, 2 minutes later next crash.
DS2415+, 12x 4TB RAID 6, 4GB RAM. Worked stable with 1GB for 4 years.

Wow this is a different one. I rsynced a file between two Synology's. I ran all flavors of sha sum and md5 from the root shell and confirmed the hashes were the same. What was strange is my hash-based duplicate finders were not seeing the files as the same. In my bash terminal I checked the hashes of the files mounted to my computer over smb. What was odd was the hashes matched only one of the Synology's. The hashes produced through this driver and the pluggable 2.5gb adapter were not only different but rotating each time I checked. I disconnected the share and used another IP to mount the share from an internal nic in the nas. Now the hashes match and don't rotate. Disconnected and reconnected a few times to each and confirmed the behavior.
This is very bad. I moved 1.5TB from one nas to another and used a duplicate finder to easily remove the files from the original nas. Call me paranoid but I like to make sure I'm not deleting something that's not IDENTICAL. So out of 1.5 TB of data, my duplicate finders fond 0 files changed when using the pluggable + driver. When using the built-in nics of the computer and nas, All 1.5 TB is seen to be duplicated.
Here I was hunting down rsync issues with not actually copying the data bit for bit. I don't know that I can trust that the data I get and send through this adapter is actually intact. The whole reason I bought this nic was to speed up deduping data over smb.
Any idea what could be causing this?

I really really really.. need ds1618+ Version which is used denverton architecture.
Could you please make ds1618+ (denverton) version?
Hallo,
the new driver version 2.13.0-1 works perfect with 2 DS918+ (2 CLUB 3D CAC-1420 adapters on everyone DS918+)
Thanks for all.
Great Job !!
Working with DS716+ and Club 3D CAC-1420 Dongle (USB A)
After installation I had to restart the Synology NAS for it to show up.
Synology Version: DSM 6.2.3-25426
Driver Version: 2.12.0-3
Behavior is the same as on DS2415+: hangup after a few minutes, no more bytes transfered.
Front USB: Does not work, even for a second.
Rear USB: Works a few minutes, Read 200MB/s, Write 205 MB/s. Read seems stable, write gives hang.
Hi!
First of all, I want to say Thank you for the work you are doing.
Please add a USB network card RTL8156 VID: 0bda PID:8156
https://aliexpress.ru/item/4000982394521.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.180e33edhvrTPm&_ga=2.95220319.257406693.1593255459-264153218.1577284876
Has anyone tried to tweak this?
Hi~~
Could you please support Support DS1513+ with ASUSTOR AS-U2.5G?
Due to I would like to use the ASUSTOR AS-U2.5G on a DS1513+ with DSM 6.2.2, thanks a lot.
I have installed the r8152-braswell-2.12.0-1.spk into my DS216+ which is using Celeron N3050 (braswell) .
Then I plug ASUSTOR AS-U2.5G into the front of DS216+ with a Type-C to Type-A adapter, no other response on DSM 6.2.2.
synonet or ifconfig didn't show the additional network interface.
I had a Synology DS414 based on Marvell Armada XP MV78230, can you help to update a driver for this type CPU?
Many thanks:)
I have installed the latest driver and want to use my LAN3 as the main LAN. The other internal 2 LANs should not be used. I cannot select LAN3 under Virtual Machine Manager Network. Does anyone know the problem?
Replace this line with your answer.
- the product name of your NAS model DS918+
- and output of
uname -a
command- DSM version DSM 6.2.3-25426

has anyone sucesfully used the rtd1296 driver - I'm seeing speed drop to zero (requiring if down/up to clear) testing it with full duplex loads (either 'real world' copying large files simultaneously in both directions, or synthetically testing using iperf3)
The broadwell driver is installed on the DS3617xs normally (r8152-broadwell-2.12.0-1.spk or r8152-broadwell-2.12.0-3.spk is available), but does not start. In the control panel, the status is "Stopped". The USB module on the RTL8156B chip, manufacturer OPEN-SMART is connected. How do I solve this problem?
PS:
I'm not a good Linux expert. I executed the command "sudo dmesg" and got a lot of lines among which there was an error related to r8152: version magic '4.4.59+ SMP preempt mod_unload ' should be '3.10.102 SMP mod_unload ' What is this?
I found a solution to solve the problem.
In control panel -> schedule task, add a task:
user account: root
event: boot
and put your synonet related command in the task setting page -> user defined script
Done. After NAS reboot, the ASUSTOR 2.5G USB network adapter is automatically working.
Breaking w/ template format just to cross post the aquantia chip/driver has the same issue as this one does on this box.
Registers proper speeds w/ connections at both ends but real world performance is less than 1Gbps regular connection
It is pretty well detailed there, but anyone searching for the issue chip/driver can refer to that issue log for details.
Mentioned it might be a signal issue w/ daughterboard, or maybe issue building this for cedarview(?)
Thanks in advance!
DS1019 an the ethernet Adapter TUC-ET2G not work.
I am not adept in the wizardly ways of creating drivers, and would very much like to have a 2.5 or 5Gbps network connection with my NAS.

Ok adapter works here without any problems but only on question.
The driver works only with 1 adapter.
Is there a possibility to operate 2 adapters?
The notebook cpu I am using is I54200. With DS3617, I can't install it in Package Center. I don't support this file.
Is it possible to get the driver for a Synology DS216play ? It seems to be a monaco procesor

Hi,
First thanks a lot for this nice driver.
I tested 2 adapters on a Synology DS415+., USB 3.0 output.
DSM 6.2.3-25426 Update 2
6Go RAM
Only the native driver 2.13.0-1 was installed, OK on each NAS reboot, all ethernet parameters are kept for LAN3 (= the USB 3.0 RJ45 adapter), switch NETGEAR MS510TX.
Congrats to bb-qq !!!!
Kernel modules are loading but driver is not being bound to the device.

Great work, I used the Club USB-A 3.1 GEN 1 TO RJ45 2.5GB, and it worked instantly!
Only if i out a second Club adapter in the ds416play, the second usb adapter is not working.
The light blinks with interval of 30 secs, but isn't visible in /sys/class/net.
But still great work!
