Thank you for the bug report. We will look into it.
Do you happen to know which version of prompt was installed before the update?
This is an odd one as prompt does not install python or update python at any stage. We do call brew update
, but this should not modify existing brews; it should be updating your copy of the brew formulas from the upstream.
Can you also let us know what OS you're using and which shell? (bash or zsh)
Thanks.

After doing a sanity check, we are installing python on Darwin (macOS) as part of an install:
prompt/src/sh/install/darwin.sh
Line 4 in c45346e
I'm not sure why this would cause corruption; however. A quick attempt to reproduce was unsuccessful.
Will do some digging.

One last question: what version of the gcloud sdk do you have installed?
from prompt.
I am not sure what version of prompt I had installed previously but I estimate I did not update since atleast Oct 2019.
I am using MacOS Catalina with a bash shell
gcloud sdk is currently 276, however I updated it during the investigation and it was previously around ~240. The version of gcloud didn't seem to have an effect on the issue.
