muldex's Issues

Z-AXIS MOTOR MOUNT 2 dimension issue

On part "MULDEX-17-04" / "Z-AXIS MOTOR MOUNT, 2" I had issues assembling the geared motor because its screw holes's distance to center were too short. I re-drilled it and didn't properly compare with the other Z axis motor mounts because I had already assembled it, but measuring on the STL files tend to confirm that.
No issue with "MULDEX-16-01" / "Z-AXIS MOTOR MOUNT, 1&3".

Bed and panel files?

Maybe I missed them, but I didn't see files for the bed and panels.

I'm currently building a Mulbot and an MPCNC and would love for the first MPCNC project to be milling the bed and panels for the Muldex.

Will these files be available upon release or does this have to do with sponsorship in any way?

Auto level configuration

In config.g you have

M671 X-20.6:200:420.6 Y14.3:333.3:14.3 S2 ; Locations left, center, right

defining the Z axis locations for the auto leveling process

In bed.g you have

G30 P0 X200 Y285 Z-99999 ; Probe Middle
G30 P1 X65 Y15 Z-99999 ; Probe Left
G30 P2 X385 Y15 Z-99999 S3 ; Probe Right

I read in https://betrue3d.dk/bltouch-on-duet-wifi-configuratio-and-usage/ that the G30 sequence should be the same as in the M671 config. Here it's not.
My G32 command (auto level) wasn't working until I fixed this by putting the "Left" G30 command first in bed.g.

typo in config.g

Hi
Line 68 of config.g currently is
M307 H2 B0 S1.01
Whether the S parameter of M307 should be between 0 and 1.
I believe it was meant to be
M307 H2 B0 S1.00

Suggestion for ABS

I love the design and can't wait to build one. I hope it's not presumptuous of me to make a suggest a suggestion.

Could you modify the design to mount the electronics outside the build chamber and plan for a fully enclosed system to allow for a heated chamber?

I guess the electronics could be sealed off but I think it might be cleaner to mount them outside the build chamber. I would also like to avoid having to build a hat to enclose the machine.

It's nice to see a design from a real engineer!

missing STLs

The following STLs are listed in the BOM (thanks for releasing it), but not in the STLs on GitHub:
MULDEX-01-03 / PANNEL SUPPORT
MULDEX-03-04 / DUET SPACER
MULDEX-03-08 / WIRE CLIP

stepper mounts issue

We may have 2 issues with the STL files 22-01 and 23-01:

  • These numbers refer to the U and X axis stepper mounts in the drawings, however they seem to carry the motor higher than the other stepper mounts (24-01 & 25-01), so I believe these are the Y axis mounts.
  • The "groove" aimed to center the stepper motor is 20.2mm wide instead of 22mm in the Nema 17 standard so the motors don't fit. See attached pictures.

Motor
22-01

X-axis carriage cover screw holes not blinded

I noticed that the screw holes that would normally require supports are generally blinded to prevent the support need, but the one in part MULDEX-12-05 / X-AXIS CARRIAGE COVER aren't.

Missing STLs

I listed the following STLs that are represented in the assembly drawings but currently missing in the GitHub repository.

MULDEX-29-01 REVERSE BOWDEN BRACKET
MULDEX-29-02 EXTRUDER CABLE, RELIF
MULDEX-29-03 EXTRUDER CABLE, CLAMP
MULDEX-29-04 WIRE COMB, FRONT
MULDEX-29-05 WIRE COMB, BACK

MULDEX-33-01 SCRAPPER, FRAME
MULDEX-33-02 PURGE BIN
MULDEX-33-03 SCRAPPER BASE
MULDEX-33-04 SCRAPER KNOB
MULBOT-34 SCRAPPER, FRAME X-AXIS

MULDEX-36-xx LIGHT END BRACKET, RH
MULDEX-36-02 LIGHT END BRACKET, LH

MULDEX-37-01 Y-AXIS SWITCH BRACKET
MULDEX-38 SWITCH BRACKET, LH

Typo in config.g?

I spotted this in config.g:

; Drives
M569 P1 S0 ; X physical drive 0 goes backwards
M569 P1 S1 ; Y right physical drive 1 goes forwards

Both lines refer to P1 driver.
The first line should probably refer to P0.
I guess that might have an impact on further X/Y functions.
