bayeux's Introduction

bayeux

Bayeux Client Protocol implemented in Golang (as specified by Salesforce Realtime API)

Usage

See examples/main.go

package main

import (
	"fmt"

	bay "github.com/zph/bayeux"
)

func Example() {
	b := bay.Bayeux{}
	creds := bay.GetSalesforceCredentials()
	c := b.TopicToChannel(creds, "topicName")
	for {
		select {
		case e := <-c:
			fmt.Printf("TriggerEvent Received: %+v", e)
		}
	}
}

func main() {
	Example()
}

See annotations in code for cases where the Salesforce implementation of Bayeux seems to differ from official spec.

Stability

This code or variant thereof has been steadily running in production since Nov 2016.

The API is very new. So only a few functions are exposed publicly and these can be expected to remain stable until 12/2018, pending massive changes to Salesforce API. Reasonable attempts will be made to maintain API past that deadline.

bayeux's Issues

Unknown error not get thrown for connect() call

If there's some unknown error occurred during http request, in the connect() it will retry again and again. The error is not thrown.

2018-Jul-06 08:26:42:492 [N/A] 2018/07/06 13:26:42.492584 bayeux.go:215: Cannot connect to bayeux Unknown error: Post https://ap1.salesforce.com/cometd/38.0: EOF 2 2018-Jul-06 08:26:42:492 [N/A] 2018/07/06 13:26:42.492503 bayeux.go:118: Bad unrecoverable Call: Post https://ap1.salesforce.com/cometd/38.0: EOF 3 2018-Jul-06 08:26:42:492 [N/A] 2018/07/06 13:26:42.492648 bayeux.go:216: Trying again...

The error should be thrown so that the client side can catch it and do re-handshake/re-subscribe.

json.RawMessage in TriggerEvent not working as expected

Thanks for writing a nice simple implementation of this! I am having trouble with the returned object -- I get something that looks like the image below and can't seem to figure out how to get the actual json sobject instead of the array of ints.

Thanks in advance!
