@zoontek, thanks for the fast answer. I have recreated the splashscreen using the layer-list and then it works.

@jochemjanssens You drawable seems indeed too complex to be handled (you declare new layouts inside it, that's supposed to be the job of layouts/* files).
This library should be fine with everything listed on this page: https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/resources/drawable-resource
A default layout is applied automatically around your drawable, you can find it here: https://github.com/zoontek/react-native-bootsplash/blob/master/example/android/app/src/main/res/layout/bootsplash.xml. You can use this file to preview you drawable directly inside Android Studio.
