It seems the extensions gallery is completely empty. This could be due to microsoft rejecting the connection, invalid product.json, or some write permissions issue...

At the moment I tried sandboxing $HOME with

HOME=/home/pc/vscode_home ./Code_OSS-x86_64.AppImage

but still no luck.

I am not experienced with AppImage at all, so if someone could take a look it would be highly appreciated.

I've tried several times to download and install a language pack; Spanish with no luck. It just keeps searching but never works.

Tried with the last release...

The setuid sandbox is not running as root. Common causes:
  * An unprivileged process using ptrace on it, like a debugger.
  * A parent process set prctl(PR_SET_NO_NEW_PRIVS, ...)
