We've seen SWE salary data on levels.fyi, Glassdoor, Teamblind, LinkedIn, 1point3acres, Reddit, etc.
Each differing in data quality and perhaps biased in certain ways.
If we are to study the distribution of SWE salary and its correspondence with years of experience and location, and change over time, what would be a good approach?

Ideally, some fuzzy enough logic can be applied to parse their data.

We gauge the future by gazing into the past.

Recent experience in Amazon Fresh automation, dating app automation, plus earlier venture into WeChat automation, Selenium, Appium, Scrapy, etc.

• What are some cool things happening around me? Who has been attending what, paying / clicking likes on whom else? Given an ID, can I build a system such that all info of interest to me about that person would pop up?

To better understand market microstructure

Have I Been Pwned reportedly uses a Twitter bot + pastebin automation to update realtime pwn'ed DB.
Seems an interesting idea to pursue from such public data sources.

We could try looking for anything else interesting, or build such a DB of our own which might come in handy later down the line.

Often enough we've seen, e.g., airlines mispricing their flights.
It might be interesting to automatically get such.
To incorporate fair pricing of certain products we care about, retrieve a feed, and alert when the feed prices are anomalous.

Someone probably have done this for various products / it's probably not too easy to be made useful without becoming something overlapping with existing setups (like Google Flight email alerts).

I was thinking Arpaci Dusseau OS three easy pieces, and see if there are any pieces we missed.

A more systematic inquiry into the basics would help my work immensely.
MIT 6.172 seems a good source.
