Because most "desktop" environment are moving to dedicated applets (Gnome Shell, XFCE...), it is difficult to find a standalone application with systray icon for power management: battery level, notifications for plug/unplug/warning, hibernate if critical and dialog for preferences

The last one I used was "xfce4-power-manager" but it is no longer maintain. An option may be to get latest version and update its API usage to get it work again.

If no standalone application is available, needs must be fulfilled with a lua dedicated widget

Notification message currently pop at upper right corner. Move to bottom left corner of the screen, so closer to systray box

A vertical tag list may contain each "1" to "9" horizontal tag (no rotation), from top to bottom

With vertical wibox, prompt box is unusable - well my opinion, it requires effort to read and type from bottom to top, rotating head and eyes ;)

The best option is to create a dedicated bottom panel to hold prompt box only when visible, the same way menu box is designed

Make menu box (mod+p) appear at bottom of the screen
