Where is the Endmember Number Estimation?

I have been attempting to use this code for a current project of mine involving the separation of chemicals from an FTIR measurement. The main goal I am trying to achieve is to estimate the number of endmembers. I am able to run your matlab scripts on the example data but am having trouble understanding the output. It seems that the program is given the number of endmembers (c=5) prior to being run, so I am unsure where the number of endmenbers is being estimated?

I feel like I might be missing something obvious, could you please explain how the program is supposed to be used?

Thank You!
