backupwordpress's Issues

Ability to look inside the zip file.

As a user I should be able to view additional details about a backup including the ability to browse the files inside the zip.

  • Add a new "Details" link to the action links shown alongside each backup in the backups table.
  • Clicking that takes you to a new page or shows a panel with the new information
  • We then display more detailed information about the backup including
    • Backup date
    • Version of WordPress
    • If the backup contains a database then show a panel with information about the database. Size, number of posts, users etc.
    • If the backup contains files then show a panel with information about the files. Number of files, total size, etc. Along with the ability to browse the file list (in an interface similar to the file list in the excludes settings pane).

This would be useful for users who want to quickly check if a backup contains a specific file / folder or a version of such.

With this as a base we could then further enhance in the future:

  • Ability to download/view individual files.
  • Ability to restore an individual file / folder right from the detail page.
  • Additional meta information about the site that the backup contains (active theme, etc)

Excludes / Includes V2

I like the include / exclude settings in Araxis.

Could have some default rulesets for
Uploads, only Wordpress files etc.

Remove Old Files After Upgrade

Hopefully I'm right on this, I dug around a lot in the project last night. When you upgrade from 1.4->1.5 the files in the hm-backup folder are no longer used. Is there a way to unlink those files during the upgrade? I'm not too familiar with WP's upgrade functionality, but from your code it looks like we could do it during hmbkp_update. It would be nice to get rid of the dead code.

Thanks, really love the tool, especially the default charset fix!

Access Backup Folder

Hi,

I'm trying to write a dashboard widget plugin that gives certain logged in users access to the backups folder. Currently the htaccess file dictates that everyone is denied. I'm interested in how BackupWordPress achieves the list of backup folder contents given this restriction is in place.

Any help would be great (also apologies if I'm posting in the wrong area, but I only just signed up for github and I'm unsure about how people collaborate on here.

Thanks,
Andy Cheeseman.

Ability to backup only certain sites in MS

Would it be possible to have (on a multisite) certain sites (really active ones or "risky ones" where admins are known to mess things up) chosen to update on a different pace?

For example have a full weekly backup and daily database backups from sites 5,4,27,132 along with files from blogs.dir/5,4,27,132

FAQ - wp-cron error

The issue is that your wp-cron.php is not returning a 200 response when hit with a http request originating from your own server, it could be several things, all of which are out of my control.

Some things I would test are.

  1. Are scheduled posts working? (They use wp-cron too).
  2. Are you hosted on Heart Internet? (wp-cron is known not to work with heart internet).
  3. If you click manual backup does it work?
  4. Try adding define( 'HMBKP_DISABLE_MANUAL_BACKUP_CRON', true ); to your wp-config.php, does your manual backup work then?
  5. Try adding define( 'ALTERNATE_WP_CRON', true ); to you wp-config.php, do backups (manual and automatic) work?
  6. Is your site private (I.E is it behind some kind of authentication, maintenance plugin, .htaccess) if so wp-cron won't work until you remove it, if you are and you temporarily remove the authentication, do backups start working?

Compatability report

Similar to total cache.

Maybe option to email report to support with a message.

backup time & size error on wpremote.com/

file name is WP-Remote.backup.2011-12-09-12-51-32.zip

time reported is December 9, 2011 - 5:54 am

Your site is 484 MB - estimate

2.74 GB ----------- reported size

Better download file

Current method of streaming through php doesn't work well for large files,

Ideally want straight http downloads

Backup Path Failure

Running WP 3.3 on IIS 7 with BackupWordpress 1.5.1
Pretty sure this happened right after the upgrade from 1.5.0 to 1.5.1, filenames now look like:

C/\HostingSpaces\trooporg\troop714.org\wwwroot\wp-content\themes\zbench\readme.txt
Files are not in folders, all backups are included in the backup too (presumably because the filename is confused).
Everything is in the root of the .zip file.
Example here: Example Image

Happy to provide any more information. About to delete plugin and reinstall to see if that helps, if not, will revert to 1.5.0 pending any debug info needed.
