📝 X-Writer Extension

X-Writer Extension is a Chrome extension that takes some text as input and generates a full post or article for you.

📦 Installation

  1. Download this repository as a zip file.
  2. Extract the zip file on your computer.
  3. In Chrome/Brave/Edge go to the extensions page (chrome://extensions).
  4. Enable Developer Mode.
  5. Click on the "Load unpacked" button.
  6. Select the directory that you just extracted the zip file to.
  7. The extension should now be installed.
  8. Click on the extension icon to open the popup and add your OpenAI API key.

✏️ Usage

  1. Select some text on a webpage.
  2. Right click and select "Generate Content" from the context menu.
  3. The generated text will appear in the console.

🧪 Test Locally

  1. Make any changes to the code in your text editor.
  2. Reload extension in your browser.
  3. Reload any tab you want to use the extension on.
  4. Test your changes.
