There is currently no ubuntu init script. Someone should make one.

Current process for starting entails: touch /tmp/metadata; screen -d -m send_metadata.py

send_metadata.py ought to be using the idle command http://www.musicpd.org/doc/protocol/command_reference.html . This could pretty easily be daemonized and be more accurate.

I'm not sure if we tested this with trackman. Someone should investigate.

Trackman requires that a label be submitted for all tracks. I think this might be a licensing requirement, but I'm not sure. Files in automation must be tagged with a label in order for trackman to accept them.

Assume we have an input file that is a valid M3U pointing to locally mounted music. Step through this, taking into account crossfade times, and add traffic to the playlist at appropriate times. This would make it significantly easier for traffic staff to generate logs without having to worry about actual traffic.
