Unfortunately this isn't an out the box solution or even testable for me and likely others. First I had the email validations dependency issue for a while. I'm also running anaconda so there are clearly minor potential dependency issues breaking everything.

I mean... are you able to take a basic ubuntu machine e.g. on AWS and run it?

when i run make init_db
in manage.py db upgrade I get an SQL Error

File "/home/willem/anaconda3/envs/algo/lib/python3.7/site-packages/flask_sqlalchemy/__init__.py", line 908, in apply_driver_hacks
    sa_url.database = os.path.join(app.root_path, sa_url.database)
AttributeError: can't set attribute

Any ideas?

Also FYI the postgres extension didn't work, I had to move all postgres:// urls to postgresql://
