bash_profile

Willian,
eu fiz a instalação do seu dotfiles, porém percebi que meu bash_profile foi alterado e alguns paths não estão mais configurados.
Além disso percebi que criou um atalho na minha pasta de usuário e moveu o arquivo para outra pasta. Como no código abaixo:

# .bash_profile ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

if [ -f "$HOME/.bash_profile" ]; then
    msg_update ".bash_profile"
    rm ~/.bash_profile
else
    msg_install ".bash_profile"
fi

sudo ln -s $DOTFILES/config/.bash_profile ~/.bash_profile
msg_checking ".bash_profile"

Não é realizado algum backup dos arquivos antes da instalação?
Caso eu restaure o meu bash_profile para configuração padrão, o que pode ser afetado ou deixar de funcionar com as configurações implementadas após a configuração do dotfiles?
