CI Code coverage

WeeChat (Wee Enhanced Environment for Chat) is a free chat client, fast and light, designed for many operating systems.
It is highly customizable and extensible with scripts.

Homepage: https://weechat.org/

Features

  • Modular chat client: WeeChat has a lightweight core and optional plugins. All plugins (including IRC) are independent and can be unloaded.
  • Multi-platform: WeeChat runs on GNU/Linux, *BSD, GNU/Hurd, Haiku, macOS and Windows (Bash/Ubuntu and Cygwin).
  • Multi-protocols: WeeChat is designed to support multiple protocols by plugins, like IRC.
  • Standards-compliant: the IRC plugin is compliant with RFCs 1459, 2810, 2811, 2812, 2813 and 7194.
  • Small, fast, and very light: the core is and should stay as light and fast as possible.
  • Customizable and extensible: there are a lot of options to customize WeeChat, and it is extensible with C plugins and scripts (Perl, Python, Ruby, Lua, Tcl, Scheme, JavaScript and PHP).
  • Fully documented: there is comprehensive documentation, which is translated into several languages.
  • Developed from scratch: WeeChat was built from scratch and is not based on any other client.
  • Free software: WeeChat is released under GPLv3.

qweechat's Issues

Preferences

Does the preference tab/button do anything? I click it, but nothing pops open. NYI? or won't be 😄

Cannot connect to any server

Something changed on the QT side, and now the client cannot connect to any relay:

$[130] 19:42      ~     > qweechat
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/qweechat/qweechat.py", line 276, in connect_weechat
    int(self.connection_dialog.fields['lines'].text()))
  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/qweechat/network.py", line 143, in connect_weechat
    self.statusChanged.emit(self.status_connecting, None)
TypeError: Network.statusChanged[str, str].emit(): argument 2 has unexpected type 'NoneType'
Traceback (most recent call last):

TypeError: Network.statusChanged[str, str].emit(): argument 2 has unexpected type 'NoneType'

Looks like QT now forces the use of a string

Separate message parser into separate repo

It'd be nice to expose the functionality of qweechat.weechat.parser to the world and allow others to use it in their own Python programs.

First, I'd recommend reviewing the code and updating it to work with Python 3, which I'm happy to do. I've got a working version exclusively for Python 3 locally, which I can tweak to make it compatible with Python 2.6+.

After that, it's just a matter of separating it out into a new repo (maybe named pyweerelay, pyweechat or python-weechat-relay), creating a PyPI package for it and adding that package as a dependency of qweechat.

changing nick

when did you connected with weechat and then change my nick makes it
