Melonpan is an open-source desktop application for Windows. It is a Japanese-English digital dictionary that allows user to quickly capture Japanese words and perform lookup in the dictionary to find its meaning.

• For text that is an image, for example, manga, click the capture image icon button and hover your mouse to the image. Then, press backtick key " ` " (under escape key) on your keyboard to capture the word.

• For normal text, click the scan text icon, highlight the word that you want the translation for and press backtick key " ` " to copy the text to get the text translation.

• There is also option to minimize the program to taskbar while still enabling backtick key. Click the blue shrink icon button with either capture image or capture button toggled. Minimize the program. backtick button should be enabled to capture text.
