i insalled word plugin and enter api-key. but it not added to my dashboard.

After installing the Microsoft Excel add-in, I sometimes receive the error "Microsoft Excel is waiting for another application to complete an OLE action" when trying to close a file, and the only way to successfully close the file is to choose "Cancel".

Disabling the add-in fixes the error, so I am sure that it's due to this add-in and not any others.

More then week ago Waka stop grab data from all IDE and from office stuff to. Try write to waka support but they ignore.

The current implementation of WakaTime MS Office add-ins do not accept the API key in [waka__***...] format. In order for the API key to be accepted by the Office add-in, the "waka__" prefix needs to be stripped leaving the rest of the API key.

does this project accept pull request

How do I use plug-ins in office on MacOS system? Will they be supported in the future?

I have install the plugins but I can't see the Wakatime section in any of the programs

Hi, I have tried all of the options in the closed Issues, and still cannot seem to get a connection working.
It does not appear in my plugin status page. The same is happening for Excel. I have logging in Word however not sure what I should be looking for.
I get no errors and I can see the WakaTime option in the menu bar. The API key is added into the options ok.

I will provide a video later... once I set up OBS, because I don't think this is something a simple screenshot can demonstrate, because I think it has some ties to the text to speech interfaces that blind folks such as myself use. So stay tuned for that later in the week. But the issue is like this:

• Latest version of Office
• Windows 10 Version 20H2
• Latest Wakatime plugin installed via a Microsoft Installer database file
  My computer always has extra background processes running due to the fact I use a screen reader and/or a Braille display to interact since my vision is shot. The combination of Word, JAWS for Windows (though I'm sure the free NVDA will display this behavior too), and the Wakatime extension installed in Word seem to make Word freeze, and then after I manage to tab through to another window and back to Word, I can eventually read and author text as normal (however, no data is synchronized with the dashboard.) The real oddity happens when I try to close any document in Word after saving:
• Close the open document
• Close Word
• JAWS, at least, notices an extra window with a title bar of Word even after all documents are closed and the application has been fully closed out (ALT+F4 for the win.) Said window is not able to be closed at all via keyboard interactions; I have not had anyone sighted attempt it with the mouse. I have never seen word do this prior to now.

Descriptions:

When I downloaded version 2.1.1 of Word, Excel and PowerPoint Setups, only PowerPoint Setup took effect after installation.
So I selected other versions of Word Setup and Excel Setup to install, and found that the installation took effect.

I found that the examples that work have the following characteristic: It would ask me " to choose a global or local installation" when installing.

Two screenshots were taken during installation to illustrate the features mentioned above.

More:

• I chose version 2.1.0 and 2.0.0 of WordSetup, ExcelSetup to install, and they all took effect. Other versions were not tested again.
• My computer is running Window 10, and Microsoft Office Home and Students 2019
• I didn't install any additional protection software other than Firewall security software.

BTW:

• WakaTime is so great and I wish you much success.

This supports windows only. Any chance of getting a version that works for both operating systems?

no api keys are functioning for any of the office applications . all are returning a null key

The length of the api key allowed by the word plugin is four bits less than the valid api key length

1. The add-in will not show up in Microsoft Word when you install it for everyone. It should be installed for the user "Just me"
2. After successful installation of add-in and setting the API key, it will not counted toward any section of the dashboard (e.g. editors, mins).

I am using Office 365 because my school account has it. The plugin I tried to install is for Excel.

Despite I ran ExcelSetup.msi and it says "successfully installed," nothing popped up for me to enter the API key.

• I reran the msi file, and it gives the repairing and removing options, which I think it's an indicator that the system considers it as installed.

I tried to manually install the plugin via the Excel settings, but it gives not a valid add-in.

• Via Options > Add-ins > Manage > COM Add-ins

"Install for all users" disabled for Word and Excel addon.
Please also disable for PowerPoint installer.

The situation is described in the title. Tracking works fine on local files but does not function when I made changes to the downloaded files in OneDrive directory

When I have the plugin active, the window freezes when I close the app , specially when i have been using Word for hours.

The key is copied directly from wakatime and put into excel without any proxies... Still I get the error Please enter valid Api Key.

I have this message on my Plugin Status dashboard. I tried to re-install the plugin for excel as states the instructions but it didn't work, I also tried to manually install the cli; I did, but it changed nothing on the status. The release for office is from Jul 4, 2021, but the one for the cli is from yesterday (Aug 30, 2023), is this related to the issue?

Hi, I would like to use your plugin for Hakatime.

The main need would be to modify the URL to which heartbeats are published.

Is there someway to expose that functionality?

I can't figure out a way to get the exe or msi to run on Mac for Word, which is where I want to install it (actually, Office 365). Any ideas?
