Currently the retrieval of feeds is very slow and it is growing with the number of sources (so the requests might not be parallelized).

In preferences, add a limit after which items are deleted.

Probably use a callback in the broadcastreceiver for the download, seems the easier way

So far when playing a radio talk, the Intent used does not trigger any activity. It should trigger an audio player. And it should trigger it whether the file is downloaded or not.

Especially when open the feed item reader

This RSS reader is intended for use with audio talk, but what about other types of content?

Two things to do:

• catch the Exception at right level not to jeopardize whole feed
• handle urls with missing scheme to try a default one (I guess it is usually http://)

When clicking refresh button, some progress bar should be displayed

• switch to previous/next item when swiping to right/left in the Feed Item Reader
• add this thingy on the left of the action bar to display a side panel to navigate to today's/unread/downloaded/archived items
• make it possible for this navigation drawer to access weekly feeds/most popular author/most popular categories
• look at possibility to improve read/unread icon
• offer possibility to switch between List and Grid for items
• Allow swiping a list item, if possible, to archive it or to add it to the starred list

Recognize and filter the MIME type of the media item in order to handle it properly. In particular, manage types:

The downloaded file for a radio talk should be filtered and the Uri of the radio talk should be stored to be played later on.

• when opening it, we should decide what to display as what was clicked on previous screen,

SQLiteDatabaseLockedException: db is locked sometimes happen. This is very rare so far, but may increase with number of feeds/processors.
A priori there are a couple ways to fix it, most require to reshape the DB layer. One cool way would be to use a ContentResolver.

When setting "download on Wifi" is deactivated, downloading a podcast is queued in the DownloadManager but apparently will never start. Find a way to either not queue it or figure how the DownloadManager can cancel it.

The date of a podcast is so far the original one. Format it to a more human and localized version.

Problem appearing again

The performance is pretty bad due to wrong data structures used to manipulate the feed items.

A priori all date parsing fails for some feed.
Try to simplify the date parsing system, maybe by matching a pattern in the first place.
