void_ergo's Issues

Switch Plate holes are a tad too big

Im using a Prusa Mk3s+ with the prusa slicer and i discovered that the switch holes are a tad too big and the switches move way too much and dont hold on too well. What could i do to fix this issue?

Wiring the audio connectors

Hi there,
I'm currently getting all the parts together and I can't wrap head around how to wire the audio connectors to the pro micros.
I also only got 5pin audio connectors, but that shouldn't be a problem.
Is it just VCC, GND, TX and RX to the pins or the audio connectos and the same on the "slave" side, or do i have to do more/something else?

I would really appreciate a little push in the right direction.

Sorry for the maybe dumb question, but my only experience with hand wiring is the Void9 ;)

Keycaps vs Layout

Sorry to open an issue but seemed like the quickest way to get in contact 😉

Interested in building one void ergo of my own and was wondering what keycaps did you use (or which ones can someone use) that would not impact with the layout?

Btw: Kudos for the design ⌨️🙏😉

Requesting additional Case & Switchplate model filetypes (namely .STEP for the dimensional data & encoding) for further-tuning the design for personal tastes.

Hey there, @victorlucachi! MASSIVE fan of all of your boards - especially the original VOID Ergo & Ergo S!

First of all, I've sent you an e-mail correspondence through your site's contact form that goes into deeper detail for my plans, but figured I'd open this public official request to gauge other's possible interest in it as well.

But basically, I've wanted to build one of these for a while now & have also been learning Fusion360 for keyboard-related projects and designs. I'm also someone that always likes to customize or modify my builds beyond original intention, and this is even more relevant with the open-possibilities or a handwired build - so I wanted to try my hand at tweaking the design of the case halves & plates to alter it into a sort-of unofficial "Goon-efied" Ergo S fork as design-practice, whilst keeping the nod to the original and also releasing the files myself. Also gives the masses the same customization freedom!

The only issue I've had so far (which is quite early-on, I admit... 🙃), is the fact that .STL files are a MISERY to edit or modify—in any serious way—in a 3D-modelling/CAD context...
No in-coded Dimensions/tolerance data—this is especially a pain with Fusion 360, when it ACTUALLY wants to import external files like DXF's or STL's correctly... it's still an issue for confirmed-working models/vectors to import with bugged-out scaling, and good luck trying to edit that further as STL—they can't encode real curves, it's just surface data, etc. - which is fine for 3DPrinting, which is also the intent here, I get that! And .DXF's are fine for the plates.

- But including .STEP (or even better' Fusion's .f3d project files, if you used the program =D - although I totally understand if you'd like to keep that depth of your IP to yourself!) would make this board a fantastic resource as a split case-design reference, as well as enabling the ability for fans like myself to further tune & perfect the design to our personal tastes and physical differences.

Thanks, dude!

Question about the material list info

Hi @victorlucachi ,
first of all, thanks for sharing the amazing keyboard. I'll build that(I've already have the case, if you want some real photos I can send you).
I have some questions about the inserts and screws, can you help me, please?

We have a brass inserts in the list, but it doesn't mention the length, what do you suggest for that?
10 x M2 brass inserts (aliexpress link, 3.5mm outer diameter

)

another one I'd like to confirm is that one
10 x M2x12 allen head screws (aliexpress link, 14mm overall length, 4mm diameter head)
I didn't get if I need the 12 or 14mm

button port question

heyo, i was just wondering about this part in particular, cause i feel like it won't print well without supports. Am I supposed to try to insert the button mid print or something to help it stay up?

Thanks in advance!

Question about licence

Hi @victorlucachi ,

First, congratulate you for amazing job with void_ergo 💯 .

I'm interested in design a PCB compatible with your case because actually I prefer PCB over handwired keyboards.

So, my question is how the license you have for this project works for my case. I want make it public in the future for everyone without any restrictions, but first, I want to know and be sure about all legal matters. I don't know how the license works.

Thanks so much for you time and help.

About wiring guide

The little wiring guide ins awesome BUT, could please upload the pinout of the micros for this project? I'm a little lost.
Also will be an extra the use you give to knobs and how to configure them.

Of course, if this can be solved with just a link... job done!
Thanks!!

Pins Clarification

Needing some clarification with TRRS wires.

The Void Ergo uses
image

The TRRS pinout uses a different approach to share power with the slave board.

image

I understand we are using SDA D2 pin and D20/D19 for Void Ergo
On the TRRS pinout is different using GND and VCC

Do we need 5 wires[D2, GND, VCC, D19,D20] or 3 wires?[D2, GND, VCC ] ?

Can someone clarify the proper connection with the TRRS wires?
