Looking for maintainers

Hey, Awesome devs!

I've been extremely busy lately with my different startups. I'm looking for someone who is ready to maintain this repo, handle PR, make sure everything is properly structured and all changes and content are added in their respective folders.

If you would like to contribute and become a maintainer of this amazing resource repository that U have been collecting over years, please comment on this issue with the following details:

  1. What is your name?
  2. Where are you located?
  3. Are you maintaining any other similar repositories?
  4. Why would you like to become an AlgoWiki maintainer?
  5. Are you willing to give 2-3 hours every week to this project and make sure all user comments, PR's are reviewed regularly?
  6. How can we make this repo accessible to more people? How can we bring more developer's attention to this Repository?

I will close this issue in a week and the top 3 developers based on the response will be appointed as the maintainer of this repository.

Add missing Table of Contents, sections and return to top hyperlinks

Some of the resource list under different topic have missing hyperlinks for the different subsections of resources. Say, books links are given but hyperlink for table of content for books is missing. Similarly, add return to top hyperlink for resource pages after each subsection. Even missing section names can be added. This issue is opened for enhancement of the repository. Everyone can contribute to this. πŸ‘

We are looking for maintainers

Hello Contributors!

I'm looking for maintainers for AlgoWiki and couple of my own OSS projects, need someone who can spend an hour daily working on the PR, verifying commit messages and commenting on issues. I also need someone who can work with me on building the website for AlgoWiki.

If you want to be a maintainer, please write to me at - [email protected]

With following details

  • A small intro about yourself
  • Why do you want to be a part of AlgoWiki?
  • How many hours can you give daily?
  • Add your Github and LinkedIn profile links.

That's all.
Maintainers will be announced in this thread, in about 10 days.

Use AlgoWiki for MIT conference?

As part of a legal technologies conference at MIT next month, I would like to use the AlgoWiki for workshop participants to add information about law, regulatory and policy related to algorithms.

  • Context: We have a nice group coming together for the "Open Algorithms" track, including law professors, law students, lawyers joined by some talented computer scientists, developers and civic hackers who will be focused on learning and rapid prototyping some projects.
  • The Need: I'd like to provide them an easy way to add their knowledge and to learn more about algorithms (but I don't want to build it!). Most/all of the are familiar with using markdown and a Wiki seems the right format for this type of collection/sharing of info. I'm asking if it's ok because I predict whatever system used will quickly become messy or perhaps even chaotic for a while, until they fall into a good pattern. My hope is that the predicted emergence of raw chaos will last only until one or two members of the group can't stand it anymore and steps forward to start curating. Based on past performance, it is foreseeable I will not personally do any curation of anything for very long, but I do want to give these nice "eager to learn" people a place to discover, share and build up a body of knowledge.

Couple Ways We Could Use AlgoWiki

  • Option 1: I could set it up so the group knows MIT/law is only forking the repo, not the project, and the idea is to add/curate a little and make a pull request, then add/curate a little more and make a pull request, so that when you or anybody else in the world adds more knowledge to the Wiki everybody can benefit. The cost for me that getting lawyers to commit work early and often can be akin to attempting field dentistry on an unrestrained sabertooth and the cost for you is that the pull requests would need to merged or answered on a timely basis or momentum/motivation will soon be lost.
  • Options 2: I could fork the overall project into one of the repositories used for law.MIT.edu projects or a workshop member's repo. However, this would keep the knowledge isolated and seems a needless duplication of at perhaps leaves the world with a confusing choice of which of the active systems containing significantly amounts of identical information they should make contributions to in the future. The cost of this option from my perspective is cutting the anchor to your project and the existing clear, functional focus on algorithm technology resources risks a drift by the lawyers into increasingly murky categories of questionable technical merit and a descent into the mumbo-jumbo of legalese.

The Ask: So... can I please use AlgoWiki for the lawyers and will you please take timely action on what may be an astonishing variety of pull requests?

I have best collection of DBMS resources

As I am a newbie in open source, I want to start my contribution. After going through your repository, I noticed there aren't any DBMS resources. Can I add a 'DBMS Resources' folder to your repository?

Add Frontend Mentor to the list of resources of JavaScript directory

Hello,

I'd like to propose adding Frontend Mentor to the list of resources in this JavaScript directory of this repository. This website provides the challenges for beginners to advance label that help to every frontend developer to deep understanding about frontend development, and I believe it would be a valuable addition to the list of resources of javaScript.
Its not only a website its an active community on slack that may be helpful for many frontend developers.

Here's the link to the website: https://www.frontendmentor.io/home

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about adding this resource to the repository.

Thank you for your consideration. #

Description update

Repository which contains all the links and resources on different topics of Computer Science

AlgoWiki looks great! But I couldn't help but notice the description above. "all" is obviously not true and even if it were possible to collect all links and resources, that would not be very helpful since most would be fairly low quality. I'd suggest removing the "all."

All compiler resources

We need to add a compiler resources.

  • Compiler Development
  • Open Source languages compiler
  • Compiler Courses etc

All things should go do compilers/resources.md.

Add resources

Adding resources for React [Most trending frame work for frontend].

WEB-3.0 Resources

Hey, As we know WEB-3.0 is on boom nowadays. Everyone in the tech field wants to try their hands on WEB-3.0.
So, till now if WEB-3.0 resources are not added then I want to add a bunch of resources. Review this and guide me about it.

Add resources to Competitive Programming topic

Some possible suggestions are - sites which teach algorithms, sites which interactively visualize different algorithms. Also, notebooks/question pages of ACM themed contests can be added.

add webpage link to repo

Your repo contents are live at http://vicky002.github.io/AlgoWiki/ .
It will be a nice idea to have a link somewhere.

Video files in repo?

I noticed we have several hundred megabytes of video files currently in the repo in the Linux folder. Do you think we should get those hosted somewhere else and maybe just link to them?

Links in main README are hard links to the original repo and branch

Links to each topic have the username "vicky002" and the branch "gh-pages" hardcoded in the URL path, which makes forks and branches behave strangely, and makes them dependent on the original repo/branch respectively.

Suggestion

Update all links to be relative paths to the repo resource. For example:

* [All about C](https://github.com/vicky002/AlgoWiki/blob/gh-pages/C/sources.md)

should be

* [All about C](C/sources.md)

Looking for a maintainer

Hi Developers,

I'm looking for a maintainer who can help me with reviewing PRs, commenting on questions and doing basic maintenance.

I have been very busy lately with my startup and it's hard for me to focus on my Open Souce projects as well as my company. I'm looking for two developers who are very active on GitHub and love Open Source. It's the project I had started when I was in college to help other students and if you believe in helping others while learning, please comment and write:

  • Why you are a perfect fit for this project?
  • What is your availability? How frequently do you check Github?
  • What is your timezone?
  • Anything project that you have worked on or contributed to that I can take a look at? πŸ™‚

I'll check the comments and reply as soon as I can. ONLY TWO SLOTS ARE AVAILABLE.

To add Resources for Python

#Add Resources for PYTHON

Wanted to add links to various blogs and Video resources that I went through in my journey of learning python.

No repository for Markdown

It will be handy to add a markdown page for note taking and to write a readme. That is very import thing to add
