When I try to debug any xamarin forms android application,

vs 2019 latest version is freezing just before deploying the app to the emulator. When I run the app in local machine UWP version there is no problem. I am attaching a screenshot.
The only solution is to disable metaproject.

After loading a solution, the output filled with lots of messages:

After clicking the [X] Clear all messages button in the bottom right corner, only one of the lines vanished. The rest remained:

If I have a very long message line like

then when I put the mouse over it I get a huge tooltip the width of my 4k monitor

the tooltip has a timeout so I don't have time to read and understand the message before it disappears.

A few possible solutions which could be combined.

1. Allow wrapping of messages in the table so tooltips are not necessary.
2. Disable the tooltip timeout
3. Ensure the tooltip window is not larger than the visual studio window. (Normally I have two applications side by side on a 4k monitor

4. When expanding with the + button the message is wrapped for easier understanding.

This option doesn't exist for CMake, so the 'Output' window still pops up automatically during CMake cache generation.

The metaproject window is displayed and the items are all correctly displayed

The goto source button does not function.
The goto description button works and opens a web pages.

Closing visual studio and restarting and rebuilding doesn't seem to fix it.

Sometimes the problem goes away and it starts working again only to stop working a short time later.

Selecting Debug->Start Debugging does not start the debugger.

It will work the very first time after I restart my machine, but after stopping debugging it will not work again.

Following the discussion in the Q&A section, it is reported here the outcome. It seems that the debug output, generated by Xamarin during the debugging of Android/iOS solutions within Visual Studio 2019, is not captured by MetaProject. This is important if MetaProject is willing to also support mobile App developers working with Visual Studio/Xamarin.

I have a work project and i use the tag FIXME to things i'll fix in future, but this not listing at MetaProject.

Has the possibilities for this project list this and others tags?

On the readme file here it says VS2015 is supported, although I couldn't find the extension on VS2015 Extension and Updates window, Online tab.
Could it be added in VS2015 marketplace? or otherwise just fix the repo's readme.

The font is way too small to see. Anyway to change it?

There are large context menu icons in two resent releases.

In the preview list, only English characters shown. But at the bottom line, whole message are correctly shown.

The extension needs to support Visual Studio 2022 which is in preview mode currently.

I can't seem to find a way to change the font (family, size, style, etc.) for the MetaProject window.

It should be an option as the current font is not monospaced and it breaks some of my project outputs alignment.

Add the option in the MetaProject option category, use the same as the Output Window or add a new settings group in the Environment > Fonts and Colors menu. As long as it's customisable.
