I have a Nilan Com fortTop with CTS602.
I currently have a RS485 board coupled with a wemos D1Mini onto which I run the following sketch: https://github.com/gllmlbrt/Nilan_Homeassistant/tree/wifimanager/nilan_code That send all I need to MQTT and I make a boat load of template sensors, climate etc... I guess it has worked reliably for years now.

However, I am very excited about your HACS integration and I would like to try it avoiding the mqtt part, for that I would need a few pointers to properly use your arduino sketch, particularly the pin designation for the software serial.
On my wemos, the SERIAL_SOFTWARE_TX is D1, and SERIAL_SOFTWARE_RX is D2. Now I am a bit confused as to how to define your item:
SoftwareSerial S;
int DE_RE = 2;
to match my pins on the wemos mini?
